Hi All!

I have just finished the basic set up of a new bitcoin poker room. It's nothing fancy, but after a while it should be a good place to enjoy some fun poker with friends!

Features:
- .10 BTC Bonus for all new players! (100 Poker Room Credits)
- No Limit Hold'em, Limit Hold'em, Pot Limit Hold'em
- Max of 8 Players per Ring Game Table, many with less!
- New Tables being added all the time!
- Many Recurring Tournaments at all player levels!
- Private Tables Available to anyone who requests one!
- Player-to-Player transfers allowed!
- Weekly Freerolls!

Be part of the beginning and help us shape what can be a great Players Experience!

Thanks! I have run several versions of this poker server and I'm working on the actual integration of the "BTC Exchange" into the server itself so that when BTC confirmations are received it automatically credits the players accounts. Ah, the frustrations and pleasures of code!

Cool. I do know another guy on the forums who uses that software. His name is Weaver. The software seems to be stable. I wonder how many others in the future will use it.  :)

Thanks! The only way we can make this work is by word of mouth and providing a GREAT PLAYERS experience for you! We'll take care of the latter, you go spread the word!  ;D

Hmmm, interesting suggestion. Red and green are very common casino colors and the contrast highlights important or exciting information. Does it not work well as you see it? Feedback like this is always welcome. What offset colors would you suggest?

the green is cool, yellow is bright but ok. i don't have specific preferences on which colors, but i recommend no more than 3 font sizes across the site, and no more than 3 colors, and those colors specifically meaning something. like yellow = link, red = emphasis, gray = normal, or something like that.

best of luck on the site.

My wife says much of the same things about my websites. She actually has a degree in the field and does contract web design work for some pretty large companies, so I should probably listen to what she says, but I long ago declared that my little hobbies, like making simple, non-scripted websites, would be my own project and I would screw them up as I see fit! That said, you do have some very legitimate design critiques.  ;D

Isn't there some sort of receiving address you should give? The bitcoin wallet is just the plain bitcoin address right?

The PIN you enter when you create your account is added to all deposits and used to verify withdraws. see this page:

I am already aware of that. What I'm asking is: Can you just use your bitcoin address as a wallet address?

Deposits and withdrawals really sucks.

- With the 4 digit pin stuff it means you can only have a maximum of 10000 users
- When depositing, if someone mistakes his pin, his money will go deposited to another user if the pin exists
- A malintentioned user could withdraw all user accounts to his respective accounts

BTW, where is the withdraw page ? I couldnt find it

Actually, unlimited users.  ;D Duplicate user names aren't allowed. Duplicate pins don't matter as the user names must me unique and must be entered when submitting an exchange deposit.

Deposits are matched via user name and pin. Unless there are two users with the same name (not possible) and pin (possible, but wouldn't match the name), so only the user with their matching pin can process a withdraw request.

The withdraw page is on the Exchange page with the BIG WITHDRAW BUTTON!

Any other issues?

Best way to setup a game is to setup a "Private Room" and post the invite, password, and time for other to see and meet you there!

Not selling shares yet, the business model is based on advertising and traffic, so at this point the traffic building and promotion are the goals. That said, because this market is so new, ideas from anyone and everyone are welcome!

Just a heads up to anybody who wants to test this place out: I've set up a private table named 'Agora'. They say it will be ready about four hours from this posting, but I'm going to set a tentative start time for 8 PM EST tomorrow (Wed., August 18th). The password for the room is 'charybdis' sans quotes. We'll start at the given time if at least 3 players have shown up, otherwise check back here for rescheduling. Cheers!

I think the thing that is putting most people off depositing any coins is the "pin number" method you have for depositing coins. You need to integrate the Bitcoin balance a little more tightly with the user's account / chip count before this really takes off.
