My mining rig was stuck on a loading screen due to some missing files on HiveOS (it happens sometimes, no big deal) so I was unable to restart it from reset button so when I tried to switch it off from the power strip, the power strip button got stuck halfway and then there was little sparking sound  in the switch and I could see a little sparking from that stuck switch and then I immediately switched off from the board. Now I attached a different power strip and rig is unresponsive. Nothing happenes.

 I am sure this will cost a lot but I wish my 12*1050ti are safe. I will take the two PSUs (Antec True Power Classic 750w) for repairing today and see what happens. Maybe my motherboard is dead too. All because of a faulty switch of power strip. Do you think I can claim warranty on any of these ?

If auto power up option was off, I think my rigs would have survived. I can't smell anything burning though.

Try to attach the new PSU and short the mobo pins, if you dont have power buttons on the mobo (?) Maybe you dont have restore on power feature.

Do you have PC? Remove the GPUs and put them 1 by 1 in your regular PC to check if they are dead...? You can do this with ram as well.

If your gpu or mobo get burning, you can not claim the warranty. But as you say not smell anything, you can go to try claim your warranty.
About your problem, you can try to put your gpu to another pc, and try one by one to make sure it.
And i think about that problem accure, its just your mobo or psu are dead, the other are not. :)

how long have you been using it? you try to read the warranty book. if the time does not exceed from the time of purchase you can claim the warranty. Good luck

I'm not quite sure that failed power switch could cause such hige problems to your rig, basically it has 2 positions - off and on, while it is off - the contacts are free, and while it is on  the contacts are short. If we will leave contacts short for the long time, nothing bad should happen..  maybe you can try to reset the bios on mainboard

Yeah thats my only advice, try resetting the CMOS on the motherboard.

Almost all of your hardware should be safe, simply open the power supplies and check their fuse. If you find a blown up fuse everything else will be fine.

Do not do this unless you're a qualified electronic technician or confident enough to handle PCBs with high powered capacitors.
Seriously, this is dangerous and the problem might not even came from the PSU.

Another one, resetting Cmos memory isn't a magical all purpose solution.
This is the first time I saw a reply like this, "reset the CMOS" of a non-booting system.

It could be the Board (shorted).
The power strip had a short-circuit connecting the power[+], power[-], reset[+] and reset[-] pins which could kill a MoBo.
Try this:And since you're going to a repair shop with your PSUs,
I'm not going to recommend testing them by shorting the PS Start (green) and neutral (black) cables (I'm not going to say how to test them, no) ;)
A local technician can do that better with a PSU tester.

GOOD NEWS ! All of my GPUs are safe. MoBo is good too. But my two PSUs are dead. I tested them with the good ol paper clip trick but they are unresponsive. The fan doesn't move. Most of the article says that if it doesn't respond to the paperclip test, it's definitely dead.

Like one of the post said it might be just a dead fuse in PSU. They really look fine to me and I think it might a small problem in them but I can't risk opening them as it will void the warranty.

So I contacted the service centre and they said they will give me an upgraded model !!!!!!! First thing he asked was that do I use the PSU for mining, I said no I use it for gaming. Then he said to collect the upgraded model which is modular (mine is nonmodular) on Monday.

I didn't tell him that I have two PSUs. Now I fear if tell him I have two damaged PSU, he will not give me thinking that I use them for mining. I think I will also need to show my bill which is full of mining rig components as I bought all the stuff from the same shop in one time. I will tell them something like I am graphic designer or something like that. I can tell him that I have two 1070 in my pc with sli bridge and Nvidia recommends a big PSU even for one card so that's why I have two big PSUs. Let's see what happens.

I think when switch got stuck in the middle, it was in a postion where electricity was passed and stopped passed and stopped and this might have happened a lot of time in those few seconds which caused the PSUs to give up. It is still strange how such a small thing can cause damage this big. Antec True Power Classic were supposed to be strong. I think they are made by Seasonic.

 I knew something was wrong with that swith from day one. It's mechanism was faulty. I remeber one time I switched it off but my rig was still running, the switch's mechanisms was free. It was on my list to change it but now the damage has been done.

Paperclip test for the win. Glad you figured it out and the cards were safe.

That means they are good psu because if there were not then all would have been fried. Always buy a good psu cause that is the failsafe for losing your mind over.
