Title: Dividend Rippler - Failed Payments
Post by: nicepen on December 02, 2013, 09:47:01 PM
I have issued 3 BTC payments to Dividend Rippler.  The third payment has gone through and is in my ripple wallet, this payment was sent from localbitcoins.com. The first 2 have come back as "Failed Payments", Status: "error", these were sent from my blockchain wallet.  The BTC is no longer in my wallet and when I check the bitcoin address it shows that they have gone through with 11 confirmations.  Please help, disappearing money is fairly concerning.  Thanks.

If I'm lucky, my issue will be addressed by the 4th bullet point under "Issuing an IOU."  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=180717.msg1886467#msg1886467
"If there was not enough trust for the IOU, the status will change to ‘error’. Give adequate trust and then flag the server to try again by sending 1 XRP to rfYv1TXnwgDDK4WQNbFALykYuEBnrR4pDX?dt=1. You won’t get your XRP back."

Although I allowed for more trust than the transaction was for perhaps there was an issue, unknown to me, that caused the error.  A comment on trusting DR: "Consider the trust line can be exhausted at any time with no action by you."

Unfortunately there's still a good deal about the ripple network and software that we're still learning to deal with, and the fact it is in rapid development doesn't help our case a bit. That said, the DR system was coded to default to manual intervention whenever there's any ambiguity in what the proper action is, and that's what happened to you (and others).

But fear not, it was just waiting on us to be double safe. Let us know if there's any additional trouble.

Issue resolved.  Thanks nelisky.
