Title: Asian financial crisis of 1997
Post by: nykg93 on December 03, 2013, 05:46:50 AM
Hi Im an  economics student and im writing a paper on the Asian crisis of 1997. Im making a thesis and was hoping for some help getting started with it. Im having trouble narrowing down what to talk about and finding good information. some things i want to include in my paper are:
- How it could have been avoided.
-Its relevance to the 2008 U.S financial crisis, or other financial crises .
-More efficient ways that it could have been fixed.
-Which policies worked and which didnt.
-If a financial crisis occurs, are other countries responsible for helping them.( I wanted to include this since we are in a global market)

Some other things a friend recommended me to write about:
- free capital mobility in developing countries.
-The role of the International financial Institutions.
-Structural flaws in domestic banking and financial sectors.
-The macroeconomic policy framework that was used to respond to the crisis.

This is a very opinion based paper. If anyone could help shed some light on these topics for me it would be great. Im tearing the hair out of my head here  :'(
