Post by: Nefario on August 08, 2011, 12:11:32 PM
Well not exactly, shares of the parent company (that owns GLBSE totally) BitcoinGlobal are now listed on GLBSE.

More details here.

So...if I've got this right;
- Only people who have shares are a member.
- Only members can invite other members (as long as it's a majority vote).
- And, the requirements to be a member are unknown.

Well we've already got several founding members, if someone wants to buy BitcoinGlobal shares then they can approach any one of us and ask but in general we're not letting them float on the exchange for the time being.

So, what would general voting be?
I'm thinking about attempting to get involved, but wanted to make sure I'd have anything worth while to input.

So far the only thing that we've really had a vote on are the bylaws. Most of the other shareholders are very passive. So we've not really had any votes since.

I was browsing your site and I love the idea of buying shares of companies.   Do you have a thread that explains how to do it?  I'd love to invest in something.  When will trading of shares start? That would be dam fun.

Started 2 months ago, you can find information about listed shares here companies.glbse.com, many of the listed shares haven't filled in their information pages yet though, so you'll have to find their information spread over the forum.

To actually start trading go to glbse.com

A shorter version (http://theymos.com/theymos.txt) is available. The long version includes all of the signatures.

Actually Swami, if you still don't understand then I would say don't start, or you are likely to make an expensive mistake.

In a few days I will have a test version of GLBSE up and running that people will be able to play with and try things out, without worrying about losing anything.

It will also allow developers to test anything they have hooked into GLBSE.
