I haven't seen any local wallets like that but you can use Cryptsy that way.

Yeah it would be nice to have a multi currency wallet, now you have to open one for each currency i believe, but with so many currency coming out will soon need a muli currency wallet.

It would be nice but mostly not very secured

You could code one but then you have to track changes for all of the client wallets that you want to support.  The other way is to build a pluggable wallet framework and leave it up to folks to write a plug-in to support their alt-coin.  Have a generic client that queries a repository for new alt-coin plugins that the user can pick from - but then you're trusting someone elses binaries.  I like the idea though.  Like the Pidgin of crypto-coin wallets.

For those who don't already know, using an online exchange as a wallet (cryptsy, etc) is not a good idea. A local solution would be very nice, though I would imagine there are some sort of technical difficulties with producing something such as this or we would have seen one by now. Having said that, I haven't looked into it.. so take that for what it is worth^^

If your crypto holdings are semi valuable i would recommend investing in a cheap laptop and using it solely for all of your coin wallets, then also keep encrypted backups in a few separate locations :) Not a wallet that will hold all coins but a nice way to keep things safe and organised

There are some wallets for multiple coins, but probably not for those new coins like doge.

Maybe you can try middlecoin.

This pool automatically mines the most profitable scrypt coin, automatically exchanges those coins for bitcoins, and pays out entirely in bitcoins.

All exchanges, and most web wallets (only good one I know of is blockchain.info), are a horrifyingly terrible way to store coins. Your best bet is to download the "___coin-qt" wallet for every coin you want to use. The only exceptions are Bitcoin and (IIRC) Litecoin, if you don't want to download the massive blockchains you can use Electrum.

Bumping this thread because I need a something for my wallets, its getting out of control and I have to have them open because I only invest in POS coins hoping to one day just get a retarded amount of interest on like 20 coins. But its killing my beast rig, would using a cheap ass laptop just for wallets be a better solution?

Also if I were to invest in a wallet only laptop, what resources are most important? Ram and hard drive?

I think Cryptsy is the best for multi coin wallet

Well, cryptsy is an exchange that could be used as a multiwallet, but it's not a multiwallet )

as far as I understand, in order to create such a wallet, one should have all QT-wallets software he wants to support installed on the server (to track changes in networks) + some front-end user interface to interact with these QT-wallets via API

or I'm getting it wrong?

i don't know a relaible one...

it would be OK, if it could allow saving your balance to a local computer (i.e. to unlink coins from online wallet) and then upload it again when necessary

So one can decide for himself/herself whether to trust this online wallet and keep funds online (more convenient, less secure) or keep coins offline on local computer or whatever and use online features only when you need to make a transaction (less convenient, more secure)

I, personally, would use such service

Just an idea here, but check Craigslist or eBay for a netbook.  A buddy of mine was tossing his Acer netbook because the screen wouldn't work, gave it to me and it just turned out to be a bad charger.  So for less than $20 I got a cheap ass, power sipping computer to manage my USB miners and Wallets.  ;D

I got tired of downloading tons of wallets and decided to put something out there for people who want to download the latest wallets faster instead of spending a day downloading wallets.  I've been working on a website that contains a collection of wallet downloads.  Its a work in progress but I should have it up and running soon.  I'll start with about 50 of the top wallet downloads for different coins and package them according to operating system.  I have Windows 32, Windows 64, Mac, and Linux zip files so far.  The idea is to provide a downloadable zip file that contains the 50 plus wallets.  Maybe 25 plus for Linux.  I will have to update them every now and then.  This is just individual wallets packages downloaded from each site.  Website is cryptocoinwalletdepot.com.  I expect to have something running in a week or so.

This idea sounds great. Unfortunately I don't have any programming skills. Maybe a better project for a skilled dev than creating another short-term coin.

Qoinpro only has bitcoin and 7 altcoins, and the daily giveaway amount is incredibly small.

If you want a web wallet for a large variety of altcoins, just register an account on a popular altcoin exchange and you will be able to play with hundreds of altcoins.

there are some online wallets like block.io that i've seen which has multiple currencies. in this case BTC, LTC, Doge.
but if you want more i suggest you choose a reliable exchanger, or the one that you like and has good terms and services.
for example i use bittrex which has most of the coins and i like it

This site is great and has all or most of the popular Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Doge, etc. It also gives you free coins daily and gives you some for referring people, so it's pretty neat. Best of all though is that it has all of your wallets all in one place and you can even make multiple ones. Check it out if you're interested.

qoinpro is not a "wallet" per se. And a ref link, seriously?

I had to look up the github but this works with about every coin daemon I have: https://github.com/azeteki/bitcoind-ncurses

Of course you will have to make a configuration file for each coin you use, but I am really liking it thus far. It is lightweight and does not seem to mind at all if you run several instances of it at once. Not a solution for those wanting a fancy GUI but the only one I personally know of.

That, and when will people stop treating exchanges as wallets? If you don't control your private keys you don't own your coins. It's that simple.

Never a good idea to store any quantity of coins at an exchange for any length of time

I have tried a few multi-coin wallets

Coinwallet was pretty good, lots of alt coins + POS but recently gracefully closed due to hacking

https://www.cryptonator.com - they have sending fees or the option of a premium account (https://www.cryptonator.com/fees) - if you send dust to your wallets they are unlikely to be credited, I had a “pending transaction” which took a while to resolve but was eventually dealt with. Haven’t used them for while. They have a built in Exchange.

https://holytransaction.com a “Universal Cryptocurrency Wallet” might be worth a look, haven’t used them for a while, had a couple of minor issues with exchanges using their built in exchange which they resolved very quickly. You can only have one address per wallet.

But in the end they are all centralised and you are at their mercy….

I could nit find any multi-crypto offline wallet, but i found out a website where you can track all of your wallet "balances" at one place without the need of entering private keys, so it is secure. You won't be able to send coins from there but you can view the total balance and current market price.

I was worried about the same thing just like you when i was a newbie in mining .But there is no such wallet that can serve you as multi cryptocoin wallet.I directly use the deposit address of yobit.net or poloniex.com (if the coin am mining is not listed on yobit) and i suggest you to do the same.It is very annoying to keep up so many wallets in PC and syncronize it to show up balance ,so i think using exchange's deposit address is the best.

I think they are based out of Russia.  Cause when you create an account it automatically defaults to Rubles for the fiat part of the wallet. At the time I did this no other currencies were available not even usd. But that was late last year. I am not sure if they added anymore to this yet since then.

It is always hard to suggest something that always can be risky. If one of the implemented wallets gonna have malware, all sources can be stolen. Nobody can give guarantee that software like this is safe.
Always is good to keep coins separately. It is the only way to sleep well.

How many coins are you using? Because if the number is less than 5 I don't think you need combo-wallet for this.
I would rather have specialized and top notch wallets for each coin than software that I am no 100% sure is trustworthy.

Question is, what are you looking for - security or comfort?
I'm sure that time and experience of many users show that using "multiwallets" is not safe, so if for someone more important is comfort, can use any "multiwallet". Actually security of every this kind of wallet is on this same level.. so, in other words, better don't do that.

i will get comfortable when accustomed use the multiwallet
