The only thing holding that up is the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission. They have taken months and still have not approved the IPO for the Winklevoss bitcoin ETF. If you want to do something proactive to boost the price of your bitcoin investment, then take a few seconds to sign the bitcoin petition on the White House's We the People website. It urges the SEC to immediately approve the IPO for the Winklevoss bitcoin ETF. You can sign at the petition at http://wh.gov/lkF6o Imagine what will happen to the price of bitcoin when the Winklevoss ETF starts! It is a well-known phenomena that these White House petitions generate a virtuous circle of news articles - e.g., the articles will go like this: there's a White House petition, this many people have signed, what is the SEC doing, an ordinary person can invest in a bitcoin ETF as easily as trading stock. The petition WILL have an impact. It WILL cause the ETF to be approved sooner. It WILL cause the price of your bitcoin to soar. Please spread the message (by email, twitter, facebook, etc.). We need as many people as possible to sign. He closed that blog site about the fund some weeks ago, don't know if that's still his aim... But it seems to be reaching a dead wall every time. There should be some regulator in some jurisdiction who is willing to give it a try.
When it eventually gets off the ground, I am sure that we might head close to the previous highs. |
