Title: NEW TO BITCOINS
Post by: sorsha92 on December 05, 2013, 08:43:14 PM
I downloaded multi-bit yesterday and purchased my first bitcoins today

I have made a fatal error when I opened multi-but there was a send address of 1cxXpVHyWqpqRSbiaf849NPgaHsoBmnEH that seem to come with the software ?

Upon purchasing 0.4 bit coins i sent them to this address from the site i purchased them from.

It seems I have not used the correct address in the software,

I am assuming i sent multi-bit these coins can you kindly return them to me ?

yeah im guessing that now

But why would they have a random send address in their software, it seems like a scam ?

???

You're sure that is not your receiving address?

I'm not aware of any other "random addresses" in MultiBit.

When you download the software

There is an address listed in the send function, this was not blank when i opened the software.

I can only assume multi-bit does this for donation maybe?

For what its worth, I had a friend have this same issue with Multibit. We ended up resetting the blockchain/transactions through the tools menu, a few minutes later his coins were there. Figured this may help someone down the road.

Glad to hear you found them! :)
