Title: A Little Beginner Help, Please
Post by: killingthemonkey on December 06, 2013, 04:28:12 AM
I successfully set up a miner last year. Then, my computer crashed. Literally. Don't drop a computer while the hard drive is spinning. It's bad for the drive.

Now, I can't seem to get it working again. I'm trying to follow the newb guides, and the one link leads to newslobster.com. I know the page is in English, but it confuses the heck out of me.

Can someone point me in the direction of a plainly written guide. I need to set everything up from the bottom up.

Thanks.

No, have a new drive. I just need to get a miner up and running again.

A little more info:
Windows 8
nVidia Geforce GT 555m

About as simple as it gets.
With those 3 steps on this web page.

https://bitminter.com/

in other words

download a wallet like bitcoin-qt
download a miner like bfgminer
probably choose a pool like bitminter.

BFGMiner crashes when I start it. Maybe I should try the 32bit version.
