Title: Which altcoin is best mined with CPU only?
Post by: 501 on December 06, 2013, 08:00:36 AM
Can someone tell me which altcoin can best be mined using CPU? Preferably a coin that I can sell on BTC-e or Cryptsy.

DTC (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=358592.0) is hard to mine, since there is no pool yet (new coin), so it's borderline profitable unless you have a very fast PC. If a pool opens this will be the #1 CPU coin to mine. Can be traded on BTER.

SRC (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270852.0) mining still possible, but minimal profit. Can be traded on BTER and Cryptsy.

RVD (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=357196.0) started just a few days ago, but cannot be traded yet.

QRK mining is almost over, you cannot make any profit mining it anymore.

CPR and TIX

CPR and TIX are scrypt-jane and have a GPU miner.

I'd say XPM but it's hard to mine because of increased difficulty.

Still mining it, but isnt difficulty always the same, just the number of coins drops ?

I'd say XPM but it's hard to mine because of increased difficulty.

What about Protoshares?
Is datacoin still profitable? How long do i have to wait to find a block with a 4-Core Xeon (3 Ghz)?

You are suggesting an altcoin that doesn't even run a website?

Yes. Got 10 DTC within 20 hours.
I switched back to PTS.

Without a pool DTC is very hard to mine. When a pool appears (apparently in the works) it will be the #1 CPU coin.

PTS Without a doubt.
Also, expect PTS prices to skyrocket :)
