Title: Request: Satoshi, please send me a message via Bitcoin!
Post by: mulderfox on December 06, 2013, 01:25:01 PM
Please sign a message to me via Bitcoin.
My address should be in my signature, and here:

There have been many rumors flying around regarding the identity of Satoshi, both due to the success of Bitcoin, and because people are worried that a person or group with such large holdings in the digital currency is staying hidden and is capable of crashing the value of Bitcoin at will.

I am simply curious. I would like to know why to stay hidden, what drove the power behind Bitcoin, and what are Satoshi's views of what happened with Bitcoin since it started? Did he/she/they anticipated all or some of what transpired so far? Was it in the "Masterplan"? and what is planned for the future?

I know it is a long shot, but I hope I can get some answers to at least a few of my questions.

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure he doesn't care. It's just a way of trying to get BTC donations.

We are all satoshi, he's not real. He represents an idea, and idea cannot be killed.

Yeah he/she/it isn't going to do that

There is a large block of unspent bitcoins that are some of the first generated coins in the block chain, if one of those were spent then you'd know it was Satoshi or someone who was around at or very near to the beginning. It's impossible to tell how many actually belong to Satoshi but that would at least give a good indication.

Fu*k that -

Satoshi, please send me just 1/100000th of your total BTC  You don't use them anyway, and I really want to buy a Tesla and go on a suborbital spaceflight.

Thanks.

Sorry man, you have to search for them the same way we do, through the clues left behind. No choice, it's just a fun topic to explore.
But hey if your lucky, tell us about it, It would be very cool to find out what they might have to say.

and yeah, it's a movement, no individual controls this anymore, we the collective source of wisdom decide our course from here.

satoshi would be a rockstar if he came out of the public. he'd be able to go to a club, point at some broads, and take them home for a night of good loving. doubt he's going to go out of hiding for some random newbie on the forum.

Maybe the person overdosed on the drugs they bought from DPR. It was a very large quantity!

Then again it's very likely it is DPR due to the fact development stopped as soon as the silk road market opened. In fact it is probably more realistic that the bitcoins were seed capital for the drug market, not for purchasing drugs.

Either way, all we have to do is watch the case closely for any developments.

yeah right, DPR was a fool who didn't know when to shut his mouth. if anything, satoshi is the exact opposite of that. i think there's a good chance they know each other though.

Well, got a 0.1 mBTC with a public message saying: "It is I, Satoshi! #Legit ;)"

Nice one. Still on the waiting pose for Satoshi. I'm sure I won't get answers to all my queries, but perhaps one or two.

Thanks for following!

Satoshi will likely remain hidden and the BTC is either lost or will never be touched. Or hell if he spends some good for him. Can you think of anybody more deserving?

I have read every post of his in this forum and even a fair share from the old sourceforge forums. He seemed sincere in his efforts with bitcoin and his vision. The impression I got is he didnt want to be what people thought of when they though of bitcoin.

Every news article would be about Satoshi Nakamoto, the genius behind bitcoin.

Bitcoin is decentralized and putting a face to the coin devalues that in a way

I believe in his vision and have enjoyed watching it come to life

By the way, is there a way to access satoshi's old posts in the old sourceforge forum? I tried the Wayback Machine, but it didn't help me much.

Thanks!

There's a high likelihood that "Satoshi Nakamoto" is a group of people and the pseudonym doesn't belong to one single person.

Plus - if he was ever going to come out from under his bed - it wouldn't be to sign a message to you.

What makes it a high likelihood? I know it's possible that it isn't just one person, but haven't seen any high evidence for it.

Multiple news outlets have done research and all of the potential "Satoshi Nakamoto(s)" were groups of people.

It'd be too difficult for one person to create this - proficiency in networking, programming, security, economics, etc...

And if one person did do it, it would take years.

It seems more likely "Satoshi Nakamoto" is a pseudonym for multiple people.

Which news outlets? He might've been working on Bitcoin for years before he released it. I'd think it'd be harder to keep ahold of all Satoshi's coins if it was a group of people as opposed to one.

Good point. All those old wallets with thousands of coins would be mighty tempting right now.

If it was a group, you're just multiplying the number of people who would become greedy and want their share or to cash out.

Leave him alone, he must be busy designing the real cryptocurrency that will take over the world. Bitcoin is just the alpha of it, using the real world as crowdsourcing team to polish the rough edges. Just pray he doesn't sell himself out to JP Morgan & Co.
