As far as a Windows -Qt client goes, I believe I can be of help, however I have not compiled any -Qt recently so I am not sure if it's still working.

what is the point to this new wave of clones? no exchange will take them on unless they are outstanding in some way or show some new innovation. Not worth mining at all. Better to put hash on a coin that has value already like ltc, btc , mec etc.

Can't help you if you can't read, mate :) This seems to be a coin problem and there is no way I can make the daemon talk to the stratum server in this amount of time. I didn't even know it had PoS till I compiled and ran it. Which was a few hours ago.

Why don't you guys launching coins take some hints from other successful launches? A Pre announcement would have been nice along with all the binaries so anyone can mine those blocks worth 5000 coins each. There isn't much more than that. I'm sure the creation of the coin was 10x harder.

Works on Windows 7 x64 soloing. However, it does generate a c++ error upon connecting my miner. Coins are still mined even after the error so its not that big a deal.

i am mining, but i dont find any block. 3k diff is to high for me

will mine an other coin now, diff should drop every 10 min

first 10 k blocks are 5 k coins -> 50 mio
and than 6400 with 2,5 k -> 16 mio

together 66 mio at block 16400

I did a clean install on a clean machine and all worked ok. Then I copied my old wallet.dat over and the problem started again. Swapped back to the new clean wallet.dat and problems continued.

Looks like its an issue with the wallet file.

use new one, and sent over any coins.
daemon should work to make transfer

Same as now can be downloaded.

Weird thing is that the date of executable is still the same,
but like SNOW mentioned, he forgot to upload it...

i had this with betacoin, i killed all files in the .betacoin-folder and only let old wallet.dat in it. then i read blockchain again . and than it worked fine

I understood he could open it, just not send from it. Regardless, I'm not certain my suggestion will work but I have used that in the snowcoin linux client with success.

Right I have downloaded the new wallet.    I am on a win 8 x64 comp here now when I run it it loads get connections etc loads block and syncs no issues. And behaves as it should.....


BUT after that it plays up and may be the issue you are missing as I had the same happen here as the other user with the runtime errors...   

what I did was load the wallet sync it etc that went smooth...   close it reopen to test it was working it worked etc....

I then shut the wallet down and went about setting up a conf file to solo mine the coin....   

the config is as follows:

saved that to the roaming/app area of the wallet...

then restarted the wallet it loaded fine no issues etc.....   But this is where the news gets bad lol

When I pointed the miner at the wallet it crashed and come up with the run time error  but I noticed the miner was mining etc so left it run to mine as the wallet was collect coins every time a block was found....  But on every new coin that came into the wallet a new run time error box came up. etc.   
Now after a while of mining I shut it down the rig and the wallet...   And reloaded the wallet and it crashed straight up with the runtime error...   So gave the computer a reboot and restarted the wallet no errors on the restart of the wallet and it behaved as it should....   But as soon as I kicked the mining rig back in again the runtime error appeared again.

Atm it appears the wallet is not liking been used as a server to mine off hence the pools also having the issue as I was with the solo mine there something in the coding play up I looked at the debug log could not find anything in that that stood out and it did not log the wallet error....   And I was unable to run the debug on the wallet it self due to the runtime error.   

It appears without knowing to much on coding it may be the way it handles the incoming connection that the issue as it played up on the start of the miner and the incoming block rewards with a error message each time...


I hope this essay may help you to debug the problem with the wallet as I want to see this coin get up as it is a another SHA which there are not many of...

You should try to extract private key from wallet.dat. I've updated BerkeleyDB, so maybe this is the problem.

Nope lol there is an issue there :)    That needs to be debugged so the pools can use it as a server as if it not fixed they will not touch it due do been able to run a pool of it....     SO it needs to be sloved ASAP

Wallet was running fine on my Win7 machine and now dreaded error everyone was seeing in earlier posts.

if wallet has been used for mining through QT, you're fucked.
It that case:

1. start the daemon on separate location with the wallet.dat
[ snowcoind -datadir=data, will load blocks/database from 'data' dir, relative ]
2. start the QT without the wallet.dat, so it will create a new one

3. let the daemon run
4. open cmd.exe
5. start a new daemon to sent the coins over:
[ snowcoind sendtoaddress <address of new wallet> ]

i got some "proof of stake" coins :-)

Well, it's almost spring and it's SNOWcoin.

But what about diff retarget? Will it stuck at high diff when more ASICs come?

few days ago someone was mining it @ 3TH.
took some hours to lower to diff 2k, after he/she stopped.

You'll need to download the wallet to your own pc and transfer the coins to it. There is no exchange that I know of and no-one pushing to get it added.

Hey welcome back. What a surprise. I have millions of these.  :D

My request would be a Windows wallet that doesn't crash. I have had a lot of trouble mining this.
Snowcoin has been a trouble because windows wallet keeps crashing during mining.

You can get on an exchange. It should not be that hard. I would try Allcrypt first. They are reliable and I trade a lot of stuff there. If they know you're the dev and that there are people here who want to trade it, I think they will give it a try.

Has the dev gone somewhere warm for the winter? Didn't like the snow after all.

POS for Snowcoin works well. The network keeps moving.
But POW crashes on windows.

I have been combining inputs for millions of SNC into a new wallet. All the dust in the old wallet takes forever to let Snowcoin start.  The coins I send make it to their new wallet on POS mining.

Still a few connections.

So totally dead? I have 2m Snowcoin.

I just restarted a snc wallet. I started it thinking it was dead, but it found a node and started pos mining immediately.
