Title: Gox false signal, loop, aka westexaco: Gox runs its servers from a potato
Post by: jubalix on December 06, 2013, 07:43:09 PM
Gox trading platform has an issue, looping, and cheap coins on other exchanges as they followed until the other exchanges broke free from this false signal

I have just watched it , it goes down to 829, then back to 879 repeat......the trading engine is broken

Thanks you gox for cheap coins on other exchanges

Somebody put a sell order of 6-8k coins, and now it is doing this... and you can't cancel.  so if this goes through, the flood gates will be open.

I've already got several short positions ready for this.

Good theory. Of course someone would try to sell 6-8k coins right now.

Have you succeed in making bids and withdrawing from gox now? It seems that this price doesn't mean anything (for me) as far as I can not set any bid (one is pending for >40mins).

so who's doing pushups on the Bitcoin Market? up..down..up..down..
It stands to reason with all the hype out there messing with the fundamentals, and plied together with
emerging trading bots, that Bitcoin is up for a bit of heavy weather.
But I think Bitcoin has shown it is resilient enough with 13 Billion behind it, to weather the storm.
I'm in for the long haul.

I am having same issues on Mt Gox… there was a loop in the order book that seems to have been fixed a little while ago, but then I had trouble canceling orders. Now that seems to be fixed, but I just don't know what to do because the price is all over the place. Is there a crash? Should I cut my losses, or just wait it out? When you have these kinds of failures in the marketplace, it makes it impossible to make an informed decision.
