Title: CPU Miner on 8 processor server
Post by: btc_shell on December 07, 2013, 01:44:12 AM
Help please!

I am trying to deploy cpuminer on an 8 processor cloud server, which has four cores each.  When I fire it up, I'm only getting 4 threads at 2.5khs each!

Why??  Do I have to run it on each processor individually and if so how?

please help-

What are u trying to mine ?

LTC, scrypt.  But why isn't it seeing the 8way server?  I thought I would be getting 32 threads total?  definately not 4 threads-

Why a scrypt coin on a CPU. That will give you next to nothing.

Ok, so now I'm running minerd64_sse4 and it's still only seeing 1 processor with 4 threads. yay-  5.5khs now per thread.

I'm running it on an 8way server in the cloud with free credit  :/

where are my other processors??

with 25khs/processor, shouldn't I be getting close to 200khs for the server?

can anyone advise on how to use all 8 Opteron processors with cpuminer?

Would Linux recognize them inherently?  I'm currently WinServer2008 R2 64-
