With a flood of alts from May and a new flood emerging right now it is important that we as a community start sorting through the good and bad coins.

This will help keep newcomers from being scammed as well as organizing support for certain coins or killing others off. All of the top 43 coins from coinmarketcap are listed as well as others.

this is a pointless exercise, everyone just votes for the coins they DONT have.

Either all are a scam or none are a scam the market has decided their rate, it's that simple.  A coin even BTC is worth what people will pay for it.

Over time with enough votes this will give a good idea of where the community / market is heading. Some coins are much worse than others.

If titled 'vote against the coins you that see as the biggest threat to your own investments', results would probably be similar.

Chncoin - mine and dump scam...Hall Of Fame because its happened twice...when it was first launched and just this past week when it was hard forked with a new diff algo...don't expect the "new" Dev to really make this coin work.

What is the rationale for so many people against stablecoin? Its a very innovative idea. The premine was destroyed and the first blocks paid out less than they do now.

It's kind of funny that some of the coins that got rated the highest as most likely to grow in 2014 similarly got rated highest as most likely to be shit or a scam.

I voted for NXT coins though, because the fine print on its exchange reads something like "All bitcoins placed into the exchange belong to the exchange.", and the owner of the exchange, and the main NXT website, also owns another domain with the word "Ponzi" in it for some reason.

It's an interesting concept but it needs to be steered clear of at all costs with the people running it.

Need to please add earthcoin. The online wallet was initially developed by a scammer. Lost 7620.46 coins before the desktop wallet was released, and I know for a fact I wasn't the only one, check the forums.  We cannot possibly support and grow a coin knowing there is a scammer that would get super rich due to the Devs carelessness on launch.

You voted for a coin because of a 3rd party exchange website verbiage?  Interesting.  The main Nxt website is NxtCrypto.org, it's run by the community.  The currency has zero affiliation with Dgex, he is just the first person to start an exchange, that's all.  Tell you what, open a Nxt account, PM me your account #, and I'll send you 100 Nxt so you can at least check it out.

NXT got my vote as well. They closed their investment 6 weeks early without advance notice to avoid dilution of existing investment, so the early investors could own a much larger stake, and then start selling a week later at a 4762% markup.

I see they are #2 and should be #1 on the list.

1. Not Bitcoin
2. No mining
3. PreMined

My top four:

1. Ripple
2. NXT - love the differentiation but man what a crap product and no mining of coins is a deal killer.  
3. QRK - come on, how is this coin even popular
4. Mega - avoid shiny things that steal their luster from others

That's what I've been doing. I was ignoring NXT but it keeps popping up in discussions of other projects I'm following, and I'd finally had enough of it, and the claims that everyone who wanted to invest in it was allowed to. That is a lie.

I currently have 600 khs mining random coins. I wouldn't call myself a miner. The point of mining is that the mining launch of a coin is vastly more fair than premining or no mining. What makes a crypto currency worth owning is if you are not simply participating in someone's veiled scheme to pump their coin and dump them for 25,000 BTC in the first month they hit an exchange. Yes almost every Alt fits this category to SOME degree, a premined or no-mine coin is absolutely a farce, nobody that ever starts a premined or no-mined coin has any real plans of changing the world, only changing their own fortunes as quickly as possible.

The Nxt network is incredibly more decentralised than Bitcoin or any scryptcopycoin. Each node (client) contribute equally to security of the network, no matter the power of the machine nor the amount of coins. Also, the power consumption of a node is so low that it can be powered by solar energy.

nobody owned acc with 170 mega. there were 8 original stakeholders who during 61 long IPO paid Bitcoin. Others paid less... Where is the problem? Everyone had 2 months to jump in.

The distrbution should have limited the maximum for each person.

maximum was 1 Bitcoin. If there were 1000 people who paid 1 Bitcoin each, they would get 1 mega for 1 Bitcoin. Can you read?

170 mega account didn't belong to anyone, it was used for unclaimed coins, they were being given to their owners till 3 January.
