I don't know whether DogeCoin will become a real AltCoin. I think it's possible. It might be used as a currency for buying digital meme items at first. I signed up for a pool and set up a worker on EC2 with a GPU instance and I seem to have earned some DOGE that hasn't been paid out yet. I'm curious when it will be paid out. I haven't fully researched BitCoin but if I spent a substantial time learning about it, I might be able to understand it well enough to write a wallet.
