Title: Crypto-Currency Chart
Post by: Zworf on December 09, 2013, 12:42:44 PM
Since I could not find any good charts to compare the various crypto-currencies in value/market cap/etc I set up this site:
http://www.cryptocurrencychart.com/ (http://www.cryptocurrencychart.com/)

It has only been gathering data from 11 november (I've imported Bitcoin values for the entire year)

I hope it is useful to others.

Note: Posted here because I have no access to other parts of the forum.

It would be better to display charts in Japanese Candles

It is more for long term trends so volatility and price changes during the day are a bit too much and I think a Japanese candle chart would make it a lot harder to compare values.
I might add trade volume though, that could be nice to keep track of.

Nice! Candles could be better but... it's really nice! :)

Is that chart a duplicate?

What do you mean a duplicate? I use the YUI3 JS library to create the chart, that library is used on multiple websites.

Do you know of other sites showing the same information in the same kind of charts, if so could you post the links? I would like to take a look at what they are showing and how.

Love the site. A few quick suggestions/notes:

-Some sort of different scale option (log or percent?). When comparing coins to the value of a bitcoin it is difficult to see any detail.
-time frame doesn't seem to go back beyond November 11th
-some stock indicators would be cool (RSI, MACD, etc)

Great work! Very useful as is.

Hi Crumo, great suggestions!
 - I've added a switch between linear and logarithmic scaling
 - I only started gathering data on 11th of november, I found Bitcoin value data I could import but not for other coins, if I find it I will add the data
 - I am not familiar with RSI or MACD, but I will look into adding those in the future

Same here, I think it would be more useful.

Other than that, a great tool indeed. Thanks! Going to be using it.

Quite promising!   8)
Please keep developing it.
There are lots of knowledgeable traders on these boards I hope some will share ideas on how to make the charts even more usable.

Glad you like it!

I've changed the decimals in the most recent fetched data table so it shows more decimals for smaller numbers.

Very awesome! I'd suggest looking at some other crypto-charts and just ripping off (good) features from those sites and applying them to yours. BTCookmark'd!

I've added a coin value calculator, in the table showing the last fetched data. You can enter an amount per crypto-currency and it calculates the total value in dollar, euro or pound and at the bottom shows a total of all coins.

The amount is stored in a cookie (named mycoins) and the value calculations are done client side through JavaScript. (Note that cookies are automatically sent to the server with every request, they are ignored on the server though)

I thought this would be a nice way to keep an eye on the potential value of the coins I have.

Wow, it's rather impressing :). Though I think it'd be neat if we could grab the plot and scroll it horizontally.
