 To me it makes no sense to get into the bitcoin game to turn around and sell when its going up and every time i look i made $100. Everybody knows that if we keep buying the value goes up,we sell it drops....STOP selling!!!! i wanna be rich,if you dont wanna be rich then please go play somewhere cause its starting to irritate me that some simple minded people keep selling off my riches...To anybody that feels the need to respond to this post and say anything other then common sense,please refrain from doing so...JUST BUY,LETS GET RICH!!!!

If you only hold bitcoins so you can get rich, I suggest you sell them right now.
There is no sense in investing in something you don't think is useful simply because you think other people will buy it so they can get rich.

You should go be part of some pyramid scheme like Bitconnect. Bitcoin is not a place for greedy people like you.

That's where you're wrong, bruv. If the volatility is stressing you out then leave. Just like in stocks and other assets, there's going to be traders that's going to make money off the lesser-experienced traders and investors, and there's nothing you can do about that. If you're just going to force people to buy and not sell, then you might just aswell join a pump and dump scheme instead.

Getting the coin at low price is the most sensible. Prices are low these times, it is a good time to invest.
Prices will rise, it's a fact. Just do not invest in a single jet. Get a few different coins with your money.

i have money,im good..but it pains me to see people not working togther as a team to reach the level we all want to reach...i think the greed kicks in when you know it can reach higher levels for everybody but instead you think of self and sell so others lose....Try this, for 1 solid week,just buy and dont sell at all and watch your money grow like never before,and that is why we are investing in the first place...if everybody did this we would not be having this convo,and you know this....

If the people start to hold as like you,the price of bitcoin will reach a stable value.And it will reach any peak in a couple of weeks.Due to the new investor,the price of bitcoin is badly affect.They will sell their bitcoin by seeing the minor fluctuation.If they avoid panic selling,the price will not fluctuate often.

I think that you should first study about basic principles behind any market.
Price depend on supply and demand only.
People will buy if they believe that price will go up.
People will sell if they believe that price will go down.
It's simple like that.

i know how all this works,buy low-sell high but time and time again it has shown me to not sell and let the damn thing do what it can do,we dont know where it can go or what it can become cause the greedy people keep stopping the progress with thier paranoia...

funny thing is the posts i recieved so far talk about my greed and me being paranoid but its just the opposite,people who sell take money from others,bottom line...ive watched my money go from a nice pile to chump change back to a nice pile and back down again...so dont put this on me,im willing to wait it out but the people thinking of self has started to concern me...

For you to get rich you need to eventually sell - keep that in mind for a moment.

What makes anyone rich in any speculative market is a timing issue; you bought when the thing was worth X and a little bit later its worth Y, and so you sell and make the percent change between the two. Well if you assume that everyone bought when you did, then yes, its desirable that no one else should ever sell so that the thing's value goes up and you can make your money. But the problem is, there are people who bought before you, not at X (when you did), but at W, V, and T values. For them to make money, it doesn't need to go as far as Y (like it does for you), it only needs to go to your level, and BOOM, they can sell. Now that sucks for you, but put yourself in the shoes of the person who buys at Y one day (when you finally want to sell). You'll be doing to them the same thing that's been happening to you all this time. That's the only way a speculative market really works at the end of the day.

your perspective about getting rich through bitcoin is wrong at the first place. bitcoin is a currency, more or less. it will always be in use. no currency without use. no wealth without effort, at least patience. Bitcoin price depends on supply and demand. Demand is useless without supply.

That's so absurdly incorrect that I worry for your sanity. You are either arrogantly uninformed, willfully ignorant or extremely self-centered to believe that everybody here is investing to make money. Most of us do not even agree with the premises that most currencies are built upon. Reserve currencies are something that interest very few of us.

Almost everyone that you see here, that has been here for more than a couple years came here for freedom, decentralization, technological innovation and actual profit. Profit that equals progress, not simply more useless paper in your back pocket. You should not claim to know the motivations of millions of users, else you risk yourself looking mentally unstable.


They're not "taking" anything. They are coming to an agreement with another person that is interested in buying their coin. One person says "I have X coin and I'll accept Y monies" the other person either agrees and sells their coin (to someone who may value it more, and have a long-term approach in mind) or they say "No, I'll give you Z monies for your X coin". Nobody is taking anything, except you are taking the market for granted, believing that is meant to work exclusively for your financial benefit. The market is simply a consensual contract machine, and it is not greedy for one person to say "I'm willing to accept $X for my Bitcoin.". They earned that Bitcoin, bought that Bitcoin or acquired that Bitcoin through their hardwork and creativity, which means they are entitled to do whatever they please with this coin. If they got these coins at $2, who are you to tell them to hold onto it even longer, because you want to make more profit from your coins?

What comes up must go down. Everytime the market goes for a push, everyone is expecting it to go down sooner. Why? People need to book profits and liquidate assets for new opportunities. Also, most people wouldn't buy something that they deem overbought or overpriced, that's why a conitnuous rise isn't sustainable since one way or another, things wills fall apart. Those left hoarding can't do anything with their bags if no one wants to buy it, so ultimately they'd sell it lower than the market price and things would start to crumble.

If everyone will only buy bitcoin and not sell it, bitcoin will constantly grow in price. This will be an ordinary financial bubble, which, with the next manifestation of volatility, when alarmists start selling their bitcoins, may drop sharply in price, down to practical depreciation. You can not allow bitcoin to grow uncontrollably in price. This is the way to a standstill. Bitcoin should basically be used as a means of payment, and not a means of accumulating value, then it can exist for a very long time.

the price change is greatly influenced by the sales volume, the seller's volume is greater than the buyer's volume = the price drops
so vice versa the seller's volume is less than the buyer's volume, the price goes up I think that's his basic principle,
if you say stop selling auto sellers down but can you guarantee buyer volume will increase?
or go find another cheaper coin?

Ok, if people don't sell how do you expect there to be circulation of the coin and its usage by the people? By the way, how do you even expect yours to be bought when you finally want to sell? You can't stop us from selling!

Trading is always about buying and selling, you can't just keep buying without selling . price must go up and come down base on many factors. Everyone is in to make money, and this can be done in different ways like investing in ICO, buy when low and sell when high, buy and hold for long term. All this actions involves buying and selling. Selling is inevitable in trading , just prepare for it and choose your right time to sell and take profits.

I think it'd simple matter. Only holding bitcoin wouldn't make you rich you ever! Bitcoin needs to keep its volume. Only holding can't make those.


Because, if you really need money then withdraw is very simple matter. Sell when you need money or hold and Buy as become so smarter

yes ... if all follow this advice "stop selling" and all hold so no one sells. i think this coin will be left by the buyer because his circulation stopped.
my logic if you see a coin whose circulation is slow, meaning this coin is not so in interest especially if its circulation stopped ,,, this coin is dead

Actually it totally depends on supply and demand. It doesn't matter that whether you buy or sell. If demand increase more than supply , price will be increased and vice versa. So better to watch the market trend and analyze the reason of price changing.

These quick market cycles are actually good for bitcoin. If we only went up it would crash even harder and have a more difficult time coming back. This isn't just about short term profits but long term gains and mass adoption. Hold on to your bitcoin and forget about them for a while. If you can't stomach the losses you don't deserve the gains.

What you want in reality is for the demand of Bitcoin to increase. This could easily be achieved if people realized and understood that Bitcoin goes beyond a speculative currency for storage of value. Bitcoin and blockchain are technological innovations that enable decentralization without a Reserve currency. Reserve Currencies lead to great empires falling, or at least the economies taking a tremendous hit every 60-years or so. We are enabled, through bitcoin, to have economic freedom, security and control all while dealing with deflationary currency that is constantly growing in value.

In simple terms, you increase the value of Bitcoin through education, not through HODLing, pumping, dumping or yelling at people to follow your half-baked plan to increase prices to the moon for self-gain. People that are genuinely interested in the foundational principals of Bitcoin are going to become extremely invested and drive the demand up like mad. People that are interested in earning a few bucks, like yourself, only serve to create bubbles that pop as soon as people get cold-feet.

Bitcoin is not what you think it is.
If no one sell bitcoin, there will be no buyer. Even if the demand is higher than supply with no reason, the price will be just a bubble.
What about you yourself? Won't you sell your coins when the price reach the value you want? Or you will always hold your coins?
There are many people like you that will finally sell their coins. That time the bubble will burst.

Imagine people standing on a rowing boat, even a larger boat you dont ever want to see all people standing on the same side.  Its incredibly unbalanced and leads to a capsized boat possibly to the loss of the boat and failure for everyone.     All buyers would not be a positive event to see, something is not right if that happens.  
 I agree with Rozita, a developed market involves everyone from many different perspectives, stances, timing and backgrounds.   I'm really negative on a market reliant on just one kind of customer as its far more fragile then a product anyone can use and I hope Bitcoin becomes increasingly friendly and easy to use for this reason.

This is a horribly scary thread and I hope it was meant as a joke, not a common view by many.   Bitcoin long term gains from the down moves and the up moves, so long as we find volume and there is some utility ongoing to the usage of the BTC blockchain.  You can be sure there is alot of competition out there who want to replace Bitcoin with their own system and take that revenue, so a stable slow gain in population even if it didnt see any price change is very bullish.

Yup yup! If you want large returns for no effort then be patient. If you want giant spikes then they will inevitably be followed by a giant crash, and some investors leaving.

The hype around rising prices is exactly why people investing long-term feel safe enough to resist the upward trend. We know the speculators will resist pumps, and that panicking speculators will always sell to us at a lower price (like with today's dip). All of these corrections actually keep bitcoin from crashing again, which means more popularity amongst potential investors, and thus higher demand. I expect multiple corrections at every $2k USD mark. The moving average will keep on rising but speculators provide the crests and dips that make margin trading so profitable. Even if every speculator decided to 'buy low sell high', the baseline support for crypto keeps increasing. Its popularity has gone viral, so unless a billionaire or Nakamoto try to crash the market, it won't crash. Because more and more people are getting into bitcoin, and they dip their feet, many are ready to take a swim :) That said, I could be totally wrong. But at least I put my money where my mouth is.

Why is reserve currency bad? I think it can work if lending is regulated and demand stays high. Right now I think every country and bank (outside the RSII-Coalition) supports the USD, and only exports oil in USDs. So the demand for the USD stays high. Right now banks have a negligible amount of gold/silver in reserve and most currency exists as debt - yet there is still high demand for national currencies because we use it for everyday goods! The global economy collapsing will still have an effect on crypto. I'm absolutely sure that in the future, banks will have their own crypto coins, and lend out crypto they don't have! Heh!

OP, your words and attitude makes it looks as if the main reason bitcoin why bitcoin was created is for making profits only and nothing more. Yes, it's a good thing bitcoin and all other cryptocurrency is  creating financial stability to users who are interested in it and have invested too. There is more to bitccoin than just the more we are making from it.

to make it sound better and more encouraging you could say, KEEP BUYING!!! ;D

with that kind of tones, it would discourage new prospective investors
they would think this is not a good time to buy bitcoin
they would assume bitcoin is on downtrends and they could be losing money if they buy now
so say something positively, keep buying bitcoin when it's low and stash it somewhere safe

It doesn't work that way mate, there are a bunch of us here who are actively trading, thus, constantly buying and selling is something that occurs daily. You are not going to get rich if everyone stops selling, not that you could control it by any means. People want to profit, not just hold and hope for the best. I have a volume of $1.200 the last few weeks by buying and selling, you can't tell me to simply buy and hold them, won't make me any profit at all.

Do you really think that the price would be stable and no one will be selling the coins, if so you are just living in a dream world, you can be rich if you invested at a good rate and that does not mean you will get rich in a short period of time, hold for the long term and stop crying about the market. :P

No body want to sell their bitcoin as they know that the price of it will increase but there are many people who have to sell for their needs as they have to pay the bills of their home and have to fulfill the needs of their family like to spend on their food and on their health and their education for which they sell their coins. By the way if you will promote it in your are and other places where you find some investors then the demand will be increased and the price will tend to increase too.

yes, it will most likely be like that, man. the price will reach its peak in the next few weeks. but, our difficulty is how we should be able to convince others not to panic and not to sell its bitcoin when small fluctuations occur. indeed, if many people like him the price will be stable, but for me personally it is like a person who is impatient and start to stress the situation. we who have joined the world of cryptocurrency should be able to hold our emotions and go through the process.

It is truth that the only way that we can keep the price pumping is to keep on buying and start holding.  Whenever we sell we are contributing to the falling in price and that is not too good. However, people must makes money through selling of they holding and since we cannot control this we have to see this as part of the market.

Easy for a newbie to say stop selling. This condition also be in fact to you, if you have an impatient character in investing in cryptocurrency you also have to go from investment in cryptocurrency. This place is not for you, you do not fit to play in cryptocurrency.

Everyone in this forum or all cryptocurrency users have their own strategy. They believe the strategy will be profitable, there is a time when they sell if the price decreases or remains hold when the price back up.

So for you, you have to learn to adapt about the investment conditions in cryptos, if you are not I hope you have to succumb and find another place that compatible what you expect.

i am not a "newbie" ive been doing this for awhile now...And when i say stop selling i dont mean never sell but it seems so many sell whenever a slight drop happens  which causes a major drop...im in it for the big payoff,not a few hundred a month...i watch the money just go up n up then it gets near a nice number,people start selling then it just drops n drops,like since sunday,its been terrible...keep buying and watch your pockets grow..to me investing is for people that dont live check to check and want real money,not for people to buy a few hotdogs once a week...

Well that’s just how it is, not everyone buy and not everyone sells their coin. You can't please everyone and you can’t tell everyone what they want to do with their coins. And it is not you who wants to be rich, I think most people in this forum wants to get rich by using cryptocurrencies or even holding them.

honestly im just trying to start a movement on various forums to get people to stop selling for a period of time so they can see what happens...i know its not gonna happen but i work on a pc all day so i can at least try...

It seems you have no idea how markets work.
You can not just have buyers in a market. You need sellers as well. And where are many people, there are also different goals and agendas.
Some may want to get rich by buying and holding Bitcoin, as they believe Bitcoin is the future. Other market participants however see Bitcoin just as a vehicle to make USD, Yen or Euro for instance. And others just use it to buy goods or services with it. Sorry but that is something you have to accept. Otherwise I would say you are the one who is wrong here. If you can not take the ugly but necessary bear times of a cycle you are definitely not worthy to see the next 20x gains.

We can't control what other people are going to do with their money, it is their own money anyways so even if the OP wants those who are selling to stop selling he don't have any rights to stop them. All of us wants to have a better life and we are working hard for it through earning crypto but we have different needs and some of us would be put in some situations where they have no choice but to sell.

I think you should be patient with what is happening because it is not just you who wants to get rich, we all want, but no one, not even you, have control over other people's investments.

Dude, you cannot control others mind thinking if they will stop selling or not. Market is so volatile and everyone of us here aims to earned, to be rich but not in an instant way. Every traders have their own strategy on how they can earn this market that full of swings prices.

It is a matter of having money and the need for money. If someone has savings he can buy bitcoin and those who have bitcoin in their wallets and need money for their daily expenses or to overcome their financial problems they will sell their bitcoin. Investment purpose in bitcoin is for earning more and more money, but it is not actual purpose.

What you are saying is anything but common sense, it is true that in order to make money you need to hold your coins for a long time, you need to buy them and you need to keep them but at some time you need to sell, this is true especially right now since you cannot use your bitcoin directly as you can use fiat, you must understand that every person is completely free to take whatever choice they want with their bitcoin and you have no right to tell them what to do with their money, no one has that right not even Satoshi.

Selling bitcoin is up to them because their own bitcoin and not yours. But better to relax and sit and wait the price to increase more the price because if you panic selling everyone will be affected. Like if you have a lot of bitcoin and instead you get high profit you only get some so before you sell just do research to and read about news why the price dumping .

Just because somebody has savings doesn't mean he will or should invest in Bitcoin. Investing in Bitcoin is a decision which is to be taken by people after considering their risk appetite. There could be certain people who are driven by greed, but that isn't what most rational people would do.
Similarly, people could sell bitcoins to take profits or avoid losses, not just because they have financial problems.

Price depends upon demand and availability of bitcoin in the market. If there is high quantity in the market and there are no buyers the price will fall, and if there is small quantity in the market and the demand is high, the price will go up. Selling and holding is due to needs for money. I will sell my bitcoin for higher price to fulfill all my dreams in the future.

Instead of asking other to don't sell,you have to hold first.If more people hold their bitcoin mean,surely it will impact on the market.Then easily you will get some dollars.When the price is dip,it's better to hold the bitcoin.Because we know,the price of bitcoin will increase in future.

Everyone may have the same desire, like what you say. But all that it's not as easy as turning a palm of the hand it's impossible for everyone to do it because many of them who have financial limitations so very likely the sale happens.

Correct, having money is simply not enough in order to become a bitcoin investor, this has been proven time and time again and we got a demonstration just a few months ago when many people began investing in bitcoin because they thought that the price was going to skyrocket not realizing that the price had already skyrocketed and as soon as the price went down they sold their holdings.

STOP selling if you are just worrying that bitcoin will be going down in the future. Just keep buying if you think it is the good price to buy don't follow those guys who are keeping in mind to sell their bitcoin to buy more in the cheap price.

Asides that, I feel he is just ignorant and not getting the whole idea. The idea of bitcoin is even to be a currency and there should always be an exchange and if no one is selling, then who is going to be buying. However, everyone like the OP wants to get rich overnight and thinking by everyone just buying on and on, into FOMO, their dreams will just come through without having some fluctuations here and there and for people like that who cannot wait long term, I believe this market is obviously not for them.

No one can stop others selling their bitcoins. Because this is how the basics of this world works. The targets for everyone is not same and only when someone is selling, others can buy. To become rich, stopping others to sell, not a practical approach but theoretically just a suggestion.

This is not the way to tell people that they should stop selling. You can't command people on what they should unless you are Bill Gates or Warren Buffett that can move the waves through their description on what bitcoin is. Everyone wants to be rich but if you want to then do something to excel in your current status and just go along the flow with the market. You don't have to buy and hold, how would are we going to enjoy our bitcoin profits if we aren't going to sell? The choice is sell at peak or sell at low.

buying and selling bitcoin is depends on people and you cannot say like that, let people choose what they want and if the bitcoin price is down, then it will get increase again soon. you can say that stop selling bitcoin but if the people see the price drops too far, maybe they are getting panic and they only want to get their money back and they selling their bitcoin with the instant sell. they thought that it's better to have fiat in their hand than to hold their bitcoin. but if they really care about bitcoin and they want to make a big profit in the future, then they will hold their bitcoin and makes another buy if they see the price drops too deep and wait for the price to increase so they can sell at the highest price.

sorry mate but no one can stop panic holders to dump in the market due to some fuds that always spreading negative news nowadays to distract some investorst to contribute the growth rate. What i mean to convince more investors to decline to invest. But don't worry 'cause this is just a temporary situation. which is its up to you if you want to keep holding because soon it will stabilize again.  Just put more patience on it if you want to become profitable.
