Title: What are these transactions on blockchain.info? Post by: hyena_face on December 10, 2013, 06:36:02 PM I don't entirely understand how transactions are depicted. Take the following example from blockchain.info.
1grJ4QHbnq5Mst9hJQXrT3TJxHdQQ2NT1 green arrow -----> 1LH751ddCfcqH6MCUDfdQjTVdFCt6JGf12 0.01 BTC 1F58y6Qfst8uGgXh6BVvwPiAM9wnsJTKrg 0.05 BTC 15W6aQ8fUBRQaXw7SaLhgSh7L92PHAH4NL 0.07 BTC Let's say I sent 0.05 BTC from my bitbargain.co.uk wallet to 1F58y6 but I didn't make the other two transactions to 1LH751 or 15W6aQ. What are they? I assume that 1grJ4Q is a bitbargain wallet which distributed three transactions to different destinations that were made by people using the bitbargain wallet at the same time. I do know that bitbargain does not provide a consistent address when users are sending coins. Does this make sense? Thanks. Title: Re: What are these transactions on blockchain.info? Title: Re: What are these transactions on blockchain.info? Post by: hyena_face on December 10, 2013, 07:00:49 PM I only sent to one of these addresses.
My point is: why is one bitbargain address sending to three addresses. Maybe it's bitbargain's way of avoiding transactions fees for their users? Title: Re: What are these transactions on blockchain.info? Post by: ajax3592 on December 10, 2013, 07:06:42 PM OP wants to know what are the other addresses that show up beneath the address of the one that OP is sending BTC and why BTC are sent to them.
Am I right OP ? :) Title: Re: What are these transactions on blockchain.info? Post by: odolvlobo on December 10, 2013, 07:27:36 PM It think you answered your own question. It looks like bitbargin.co.uk decided to combine other transfers with yours. That doesn't seem unusual. Remember, your bitbargin.co.uk wallet is not really your wallet.
Title: Re: What are these transactions on blockchain.info? Post by: hyena_face on December 11, 2013, 05:24:25 PM Thanks - I understand now.
But, if bitbargain.co.uk is not my wallet, then what is it? I can login to it and send and receive coins. Title: Re: What are these transactions on blockchain.info? It is bitbargain.co.uk's wallet. You have no control over it. They hold the private keys and keep track of your balance separately in an accounting database that is independent of the wallet. The only purpose of the public address they give out is to credit the person who deposits money in their wallet. Title: Re: What are these transactions on blockchain.info? It is sort of a "bank account", you deposit 1K to your bank, and you will get a "1000" on your bank book. Title: Re: What are these transactions on blockchain.info?
