Are there any initiatives using blockchain providing help for poor communities around?

There is some interesting proposal you can read about on the internet:
- Philipp Sanders's proposal against corrupted governments: https://medium.com/@philippsandner/solving-challenges-in-developing-countries-with-blockchain-technology-78ec9b01bae3
- Ironically, the Bill&Melinda Gate's foundation is talking about creating a project to help people in poor condition by the use of the blockchain technology and Bitcoin (that's ironic because Bill Gates don't use to speak nicely about Bitcoin, but you know when money is abroad...). https://www.technologyreview.com/s/604144/how-blockchain-can-lift-up-the-worlds-poor/
- Also, WFP is taking the lead on a project related to stopping the hunger by using the new tech: https://www.devex.com/news/new-initiative-aims-to-deliver-on-the-promise-of-blockchain-for-identity-90620
- Another interesting point should be the use of the Blockchain technology in elections. There has been an attempt in Venezuela trying to stop corruption, as well as on Sierra Leona. Agora is one of the enterprises dedicated to it, but, surprisingly (or not) they are not as transparent as they should be. Nevertheless, it is an interesting point of view, and you can read about it in here: https://agora.vote/

Well, just google it. There are much information related to projects focused on helping people by the use of the blockchain technology.

Block chain technologies in the hands of dictators like Venezuelan  Maduro with his el Petro are like kept to become a cause of poor countries’ economic downturn. Look what happend to Venezuela’a oil industry, oil-backed crypto is next to go

blockchain can help involve a lot of people into the ecosystem and can help poors become rich... Imagine, a poor man buying a drone and his smart drone connected to blockchain and doing deliveries ! Poor will become rich

Yeah I also think that in a country with unstable political and economic situation, especially in such a grave crisis like Venezuelan launching crypto will contribute to county's collapse

Yes. Blockchain can help the head of the money earn extra money for basic needs. Unemployment is one of the main reason a country is poor. Blockchain can help those who are unemployed. By working on bounties, trading or invest, this will provide them an alternate source of income. I am not saying that this should be their main job but its always good to have options.

It can help increase their capital

But, unfortunately, it works not everywhere
For example, in Zimbabwe government banned crypto

There's a town in Switzerland rolling out a platform for blockchain voting. https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/politics/crypto-valley_swiss-blockchain-voting-platform-begins-trial/44215246

If things turn out fine it could serve as a model for election systems elsewhere. Though blockchain's use shouldn't end there. IMHO, campaign spending budgets for politicians should also be on a blockchain to make sure they don't overspend and to make it easy to track who is donating to who.

Might not outright eliminate lobbying but if everyone knows corporation A(sshole) donated to politician B(ullshit) then everyone would scrutinize policies that might benefit said corporation that said politician tries to pass.

decentralization or without third party systems can be a real game changer for poor countries whether in politics or banking or governance. the idea that there is no need of third party human intervention can create a system which rewards its participants based on their involvement in the network is surely solution for never ending corruption where power is centralised at one point. also decentralized networks whether in money, politics or any form help to mitigate black swan events because of no single point of failure.

Developing countries would definitely benefit from blockchain projects. Charity donations and welfare handouts can easily be sent using a blockchain system that prevents people from cheating (often the recipients receive less than they were meant to).

Hey, found a good article too: https://www.pymnts.com/blockchain/2018/overstock-blockchain-global-poverty/
It basically suggests that blockchain can create a global property registry system to bring to light the property rights of billions of people in the developing world. A company called DeSoto, Inc. — plans to build solutions to empower individuals through property ownership.

The great thing with blockchain, I think, is that it is in a way, an equalizer for all. It really helps now to learn more about the tech to be able to keep up with the changes ahead. Do you agree?

The UN is implementing an interesting program to use blockchain to send funds to Syrian refugees in Jordan. They were already doing this, but using the blockchain has allowed them to avoid paying local banks and, therefore, have more money which can be given direct to the refugees:
