Title: Purchasing bitcoin if your in the UK or AUD
Post by: navarthelol on December 10, 2013, 10:45:32 PM
Hey!

So I have an English bank account and an Australian bank account but am finding it really quite difficult to buy bitcoins with either currency! What kind of websites are you guys using atm to purchase bitcoins? I'd prefer to avoid avenues whereby I have to wait 5 working days for the transaction to go through or I have to meet people IRL etc.

I'm envisioning this method whereby I put my card details into the website, within moments bitcoins arrive! I dont mind providing documents, getting verified etc!

Cheers
Mark

I can't comment on AUD since I'm UK based however from the UK it's a bit of a pain in the ass, I've been using either bitbargain or localbitcoins

bitbargain you can buy BTC or LTC and localbitcoins is just BTC

You will pay above market rates sadly (differs by how much)

Cashing out is an equal pain, I usually convert back to BTC and sell on localbitcoin which is really easy (you tend to get above market rates when selling)

Go to Localbitcoins, book an order with a trusted guy, meet up in a cafe, grab your BTC  :P

The main place is localbitcoins.com, but I have also had success with https://cryptonit.net

Hi Mark and others,

ANX now provides local AUD deposits and withdrawals for Australian bank account holders.
We also provide same day processing of all AUD deposits and withdrawals.

Lastly, your AUD orders are maintained on a single order book and will trade against orders submitted in 9 other fiat currencies.  I don't believe there is a Bitcoin exchange in the world that can do this today (though I'm happy to stand corrected of course ;) ).

I recommend Bittylicious for the UK. Very simple and easy to use and you'll have your coins in around ten minutes.
