Title: 🛑 Will I get scammed or not? Can you answer with the info I have? 🛑
Post by: Pali on May 09, 2018, 05:24:00 AM
Hey there,

In a bit of a pickle here.

There's this guy who sells and codes script for a certain gambling site. He's told me the following:

Quote
We've done backtesting on x gamble site data, we normally backtest on a chain of 5m games
It normally gets a 100% ROI within a week
And we keep bumping up the base bet incrementally as the BR grows
Chances of busting, I believe 1 in 30-40k if I remember correctly

  • His website is currently down. Told me it will be up in 2-4 days.
  • His topic on bitcointalk listing his service+site has little growth and is inactive atm
  • His profile on bitcointalk is newbie with little posts, freshly made.
  • He won't ask anyone of his clients to vouch for him.
  • Doesn't want to disclose any info about himself, just only contact through discord.
  • He claims to not gamble or use the scripts he makes for gambling purposes but only code scripts.

He bought the script for distribution rights from the original creator who supposedly made 2 btc coins with it and keeps making profit every day...

I've only seen of said user a profile with 20k bits profit aka 0.02 btc. The person selling nor the original creator want to disclose any more then that.

They expect me for that to be enough to consider buying for 0.08 btc. The seller is going to bump up the price to 0.1 btc soon he says.

Am I crazy or are they? Is that how business is done? I asked to see profiles with real stacks of profit and nothing.

I'm really supposed to take he's word for the amount of money he's asking. On the other side what if its legit? Hence my dilemma.

This two individuals may be the same person?

I'm looking to hear your assessment and what I'm entitled too as a potential buyer.

1. From what I know all the "schemes" that make you always get on profit from gambling are scam. Just imagine: the creator gets more than 2BTC from the script but he sells it, increasing the risk that everybody, including himself, get caught using that.

2. If you give money without a proper escrow to a newbie / fresh account then you really like to make donations. Hundreds of fresh accounts are made daily.

So, what you think, will you get scammed?

My logic here is that if this script is making money then he wouldn't have any need to sell the script to make extra money. :)

Ask him if he is willing to use an escrow service here on the forum. You pay the escrow service, then test the script for 2 weeks. If it generates a profit like he claims then you can instruct the escrow service to release the funds to the seller. If not, then they can refund you.

The thing is , he bought redistribution rights for 1 btc and doesn't gamble himself but only codes scripts.

He claims to have an office, team of coders and 100+ customers.

So most scams have a few elements. Here's the 3 I see.

1)If it's to good to be true it probably is. They are promising you will make a profit, and that this is fool proof. Yet they can't show you any valid proof this will work.

2) This is the deal price; rush now before it goes up. It's the same hook infomercials use to get you to spend now and think later.

3) There is no recourse if everything falls apart. They have a newbie account and nothing tangible you can use to recover your funds.

My advice is discontinue speaking with them, and move on. No one hands out free money.

It is pretty obvious that it is a scam for all the reasons people have stated. You want to believe it is legit and you are trying to convince yourself that it might not be a scam, but it is a scam. Move on. There is no opportunity here.

What you said is true, this type of all schemes are nothing but to scam the users and even OP is telling that the account is newbie. That itself is enough that he is a scammer as even if his account gets banned he wont be in loss. This type of scammers are so many in this forum who will give you even proof which are edited.

So it is always informed that dont fall for this type of scam. Just think that if he is making so much profit then why does he wants to sell his idea. Their is no constant idea in gambling that will give you profit.

This is when you know its a scam/bullshit.
If he is big enough to have an office and team, he would be selling it through official channel or at least set up a company website to selling it to other company.
What you're describing here is that he sells it to individual via chat/private message ::)
Just stay away from it, you might have gotten a non-functioning script or script with malicious codes in it, the risk are not worth the price here.

ANYTHING on this site claiming 100% ROI in a week is such an obvious scammer im surprised you would even be thinking about it.

Pali

Becareful!!!  If a developer is promising assets, a dev team, and legitimate delivery of tasks, you need to get confirmation those resources actually exist and the developer can deliver.

Always be skeptical and triple check every source.  If no former clients will verify the work and you keep getting the run-around in providing assurance, I would NOT get involved.

This looks like a scam.
