The day the system was introduced I remember having 4 sMerits. Gave all of 'em to Lauda, without realizing that they'd be distributed so scarcely. Kind of an understatement, seeing as how I haven't gotten any since. Can anyone shed some light on the matter?

You need to make some great posts that will get you some merit. You get one sMerit for every 2 merits you receive.

Use it wisely, looks like someone else had the same idea as me maybe, because you received another one while I looked at your posts.

Things are drying up, but it is what it is. Originally I though thought the 4 or 5 I got would replenish each month, but I haven't found it necessary. I have received a decent amount, although it has slowed recently. Mind you I'm pretty pleased with the last few I did receive.

Judging by the interest, you have shown in how the merit system works since it was implemented; I’m not surprised you haven’t had many merits and thus smerits to spend.

If you are an exceptional poster, people will merit you naturally, and you will get half of those merits as smerits to spend, as @Jet Cash has said; if not, you will need to make an effort and you will only get them from time to time.

Knock yourself out, just sent you 1 Merit. Use it wisely young padawan.

You only receive sMerit replenishment if you are a merit source.

Otherwise, you get one sMerit for every two merit you receive.

sMerit is undoubtedly making this forum healthy, imagine more users now post something helpful and constructive just to get sMerits.

I am finding great post relating to some boards like discussion, trading, speculation and beginners& help to send my 6 smerits. Although my rank is quite modest, honestly, i don't mind sending merits to quality posts.
Last month, i even didn't know what merit is, lol

One of the reason why your posts do not get merits is because more then 50% of your post are in Alternate cryptocurrencies(based on 40 last posts you made) , so let's say you have poor visibility of your post on forum.Try to post more in different boards,and work on the quality of your posts.Also join to some of merit competitions/contest so you will have more chance to get some merit for good quality posting.

Ah, the clarification I needed. Much appreciated. I did not realize you are rewarded sMerits based on the merits you receive, thought we all got 'em at various intervals.

Yeah, the merit system was a necessary addition in order to contain the onslaught of "when moon sir" people. I do think they need to incentivize sending merits, though.

Looks as if flash cunts get merits, but only if they don't make pajeet posts.

It's just maybe solely because your posts are not being considered as meaningful or maybe because no one has found them merit worthy. But I'm sure you will get merit with time.

One thing I noticed is that those who started threads have more chances of getting merits, compared to those who just replies to threads but, it depends on what topic was opened for discussion.

Yes, it's hard to earn merits.IMO If a thread has more than 10 pages already then you should not post there again.And I think for newcomer like us "Meta" section should be the target to make quality posts and earn some merits.

You will not get merit annually, you need to earn it. If you have not getting merit in the recent time, i suggest to take a look at yourself before blaming the system like other people. Start by learning all about cryptocurrency, then make posts based on that but do it on your unique style, last, do not beg for merit to others, especially making a thread of it.

You gave your merits for such a primitive post and you must be expected that getting merit is going to be the same easy as to Laura, this person is actually famous on the forum, that's why for him merit gaining is not a problem at all. I also was rewarded only in the beginning and it had nothing with quality of my post, but about the little business which is still in the project. I think now, when it three months passed and users gave their merits it becomes harder and harder to get a merit, because it stays few of it on users' balances.

In general, it's not suggested to post in spam megathreads, not only when we talk about Merit. When thread have 10 pages of discussions it'snot likely that you wont repeat things which was already said by other users.
Forum users spending their sMerits on Meta board most actively, but IMO, it shouldn't be target for Merit hunters. Newcomers need to focus on Beginners & help board and other boards to educate themselves.

OP you could probably lock the thread as you got your answers. This has the potential to become another megathread especially once it passes that first page.

I can see you've also been receiving merit so they must have helped.
