It's impossible to sell anything on the forums right now. All the sellers want the prices that it's selling for on ebay which they could easily list there, and all the buyers here are educated enough to want to buy at a price that gives them some sort of ROI.

If you look at the ambient temps on BFG miner its doing fairly decent and it gives them an enclosed space the ambient temp is with the case closed.

I'll buy the DOA Jalapeño for 0.02 BTC (about $20).  TBH, it's more than it's worth, since it's pretty much a paperweight.

Maybe. I did buy a blown up Jally for .15 from a guy in the UK. But that was so I could finally figure out what the fuck has been blowing them up and how to fix it. His is at least hashing.

Note: Jallies are not a bad investment, since you can buy 4gh chips for .05btc and stick a total of 6 on the unit, a system could make .662btc on an investment of .20+.20. Not too great, but better than Ebay prices.

That said, I would offer .1btc for it. But think about it. 8 jallies+enough chips would be a formidable system. 200gh

Yeah lightfoot i was looking at buying some chips and putting them on the boards and on the cracked one remove it. And it does hash at 4.5 ghs a second for about 10 min then the second chip causes a short causing it to shut off and i have blown 2 powersupplys testing it.

Then again the guy who has been selling them just sold out his whole set. So location of chips is once again unknown.

If they have a CE mark I would raise my bid. But since other BFL Miners have been returned to sender by customs because of the missing CE mark I would not risk it again ;-)

How difficult is to add chips to these? I have three of them hashing at 7.5/8GH and would like to supe them up.

Not too difficult with the correct tools... though getting chips is now the main problem.

So, with the right tools and know how you can take a 8 GH/s Jalapeno and turn it into a ~24 Gh/s?

Is there a write-up for this somewhere? I have some chips laying around and would like to try this out.

Did you check if they have a CE mark? I read that current ones do have these.
