Festival coin (FEST) is a business and use-case driven; community centered CryptoNote based cryptocurrency. Besides providing a ubiquitous completely anonymous payment scheme, we are here to solve a real problem !

Every time you attend a big event or a festival, you will probably face long queues and lose those plastic tokens. Meaning that you are endangered to losing time and money (and possibly your patience).

Those are two examples of the real-world-use-cases that FEST will strive to solve by using its high-skilled business core team, with more than 20 years of expertise in events, and tech-wise by implementing Smart Contracts for personal token generation.

FEST is initially adopting an ASIC-resistant Proof of Work mining scheme and futurelly the Proof of Stake with Master Nodes will take place. The latest which will bring advantages to coin holders and merchants, both on the financial aspect by staking the coins and on the safety aspect, by storing value.

Overall the FEST goal is becoming a secure, fast, easy, private, and untraceable online payment tool. Payment gateways that will open the opportunity for mass adoption of general public.

Starting Mining

To start mining:

Connecting the daemon to a blockchain To connect to the daemon to existing blockchain, just start forknoted with the corresponding configuration file.

To start simplewallet:

Mining with miner miner needs a running and synced daemon.

Nobody can connect to the seed node. forknoted on the seed node prints the following WARNING

Solution
Add the P2P port in “Inbound Rules” in the Windows Firewall on the seed node
If you are behind NAT added --p2p-external-port <PORT> param to forknoted.

yes something happened like someone tried to fork it... Looking on it now but sure best is to delete

Delete the blockchain folder.

On Windows delete this folder:

C:\Users\%user_name%\AppData\Roaming\%festival%\

On Linux/OSX:

Offcourse, the wallet from the first blockchain definitely won't work on the new CN7 blockchain.
Downloading the latest wallet from github solved the problem.

The old wallet shows me a balance of 0 coins now. Is there any way to solve this?

P.S; Ambitious plan btw. Maybe even damn bright. This could replace these the oldskool plastic tokens which are commonly used for decades.
And that 80's shit, that doesn't fit longer in our digitalized environment.
This might even replace the physical tokens from different clubs across the country.

Please find below some of the technical aspects of the CN-🇫 🇪 🇸 🇹  mining algorithm fork. Some ideas, concepts and future  goals:
1- **Network resilience**. Prepare a “magic start” with a special `speed_factor` that aims to increase the resistance to short-time fluctuations  on the network hashrate. Thus when hashrate fluctuates or specially increases in the form of spikes, the network can adapt smoothly.           
2- **Legacy HW support**. Prepare a special `mask iteration` and `memory management` for performance increase for non-modern GPUs, e.g. RX-470.
3- **Scalability, Master Nodes and Super Nodes future support**. Update general settings like `check_window` , `system timeout`, threshold values and more. A baseline and foundation for the MasterNode & SuperNode future infrastructure. Meetings were carried along with **GRAFT Coin** Devs and some other crypto dev experts.
4- **Stability and adaptation to roadmap**. Increase stability and prepare for future plans, e.g. `SideChain` creation for dynamic load balancing.
5- **NiceHash resistant**: According to first the 04 points, our PoW algorithm will update on block 70000 and NiceHash will immediately not support Festival coin mining anymore via CN-V7.

I have a quick question.

max. supply is 18,446,000?

I have a Daily FEST of: 5K

if 500 people has the same 5k daily = 500x5000=2,500,000 daily

18,446,000/2,500,000=7.38 days and the total supply is mined??

I am a little confused now..

SRBMiner 1.7.0 now supports CN-Fest (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3167363.0)

If 500 miners will try to mine 5000 a day, the difficulty will spike and they would have to share ~24000 a day.
There is mined coins allocation per block and that is going down with each block.
At this point it's ~25 per block. 960 blocks per day * 25 = 24000 allocated per day.
