Title: need a calculator like this in JS!
Post by: Tasty Champa on August 13, 2011, 04:44:15 PM
Okay mods I put this here so when you move it, the link will still kinda be in the main discussions! XD

We need a Javascript bitcoin/ixcoin/namecoin calculator just like this one:

http://www.sspi-software.com/graphics/stockcalc_win_illus1.png

http://www.sspi-software.com/stockcalc_win.html

this software allows to input all the monies you have, input the fee and the buy price and then gives you the amount of coins you can buy, also works the other way. So you can spend the entire amount in your account

Something just like this in JS would be highly useful.

If someone has something equa' or more useful already in JS, I promise I will not post any messages or threads the rest of the entire weekend! ;D

To have the value of n ixcoins in BTC, just multiply by zero, no need for calculator

no no, not for ~coin conversion.
Need this for full monies to ~coin or full ~coin to monies calculation.
so you can instead of picking a number you can use the full amount of what you are working with.

Well I have a simpler version of that on http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com/order-book/ but the good thing about my calculator is that is computes the slippage you will incur based on the current order book. I am also working on a version that incorporates more options - coming soon.

You have me pretty close to stop posting! :D
What you did there, is what provoked me to finally find something.
but also need a way to change bid and ask prices and insert the trade size percentage fees, which are sometimes different. I really suck at math, basically I was trying to do all of this with a regular calculator, for like a hour, then got fed up and went looking for a javascript calculator, that didn't work much so far, then I went looking for that stocks calculator which really does what I need but it costs 14.95, it rounds and it's only windoes which break it's usefulness. So then I went looking around to figure out how I decompile it with ollydbg and fix it! That didn't work. :P
Pheeeeuoow!
Still get to post!

hmm.
Seems to do the same think Clark Moody's does.

those math guys in that thread make it look like they are trying to explain how to divide by zero! ;D

i used to make calculators that did similar, very simple calculations in js, they also looked like ass  8)

although an ixcoin to and from any currency is a simple icxoin*0 calculation as said before.
