Title: Trading tips for cryptos
Post by: PhoneBloks on December 13, 2013, 10:06:23 AM
Hello all,

after lot of successes with my past trading I created this topic and I am willing to share next crypto currencies trade tips.

I try to find most undervalued crypto. I look at

- current hashrate vs historical hashrate
- current difficulty vs historical difficulty (and its trend)
- price per difficulty ratio
- mining profitability
- volume
- current strenght of all orders (i use cryptsy)

https://www.cryptsy.com/users/register?refid=24499
(thanks for using my refferal link)

But enough plain talking ... only last week I started make posts about my trades to have proofs I really trade and time and date when I buy and when I sell

GLX - Galaxycoin

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=246679.msg3925829#msg3925829

bought at 950 sold at 1750, net gain 80 % in 2 days

PHS - Philosopher stone

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=292720.msg3926595#msg3926595

bought at 8600-8900 ... sold at 14900-16900, net gain 70 % in 1 - 2 days

NBL - Nibble

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=209035.msg3940578#msg3940578

http://i40.tinypic.com/vzgght.png

bought at 5616 ....sold at aprox 11000 ... net gain aproximately 70 % (could have had more ..nevermind)

I prefer buying small volumes, but continuously for some time period (1 hour - 5 hours). I dont want price bump and dump, and panic at the market.

Am I lucky or does my volume move the market ? :) You decide ....

If someone is interested in my next trade tips, PM me ... and any donations are accepted and welcomed :D

Also can't answer your question about if your volume effects the market because you haven't included the volumes >.<

But anyway, nice one on making a profit :0)

lol could you edit it out of the big blue question in your original post please :P for me it came across as the main part of the thread :-D (that could just be me reading it wrong but with it big and blue its hard for me not to think so.)

careful trading over the weekend, normally things go a bit mental it can swing wildly so make sure you take precautions :-)

Phonebloks notified PHS on the thread before he was buying, so that is quite a decent thing to do.

although difficulty and profitability are more complex with a coin that uses PoS and PoW.

Nope. He mentioned he bought at 8600, but PHS minimum price today was around 13000. He could've bought from 12/9/13 to 12/11/13

If you got a high mining profitability,  then the likelihood of it being dumped for BTC/LTC is much higher.

I dont need to "humble brag" how many "volume i own" but muddafudda was rude. I started topic where i would like to provide trade signals for FREE and he insulted me for nothing. I know that 95 % of all cryptos had solid gain last month, but there are still lot of things (factors) to keep in mind to avoid any money loss.

I didnt mention nothing about my account balance in first post, even in 2nd, I just mentioned " i own more then he will ever mine " :P yes it is little bit "humble brag-ing" but what would you write him ? :)

But forget muddafudda, forget my volume, I apologize, I dont feel I am "above mainstream" because of my "volume".

I am willing to share my ideas, my experiences (as I trade forex since 2007) any my future trades with everyone who is interested.

Lots of you (me either) bought some cryptos (or even bitcoin) at low and now have solid profits. My trading is little bit different. I think (maybe Im just lucky) that I can move some small markets.

There are 2 options how to do that.
a, start buying ... (more agressive)
b, hold position .... (less agressive)

a, start buying ... Example: I see price 5000 ... (real price is 0.0000000000005000, but for easing, forget zeros) .. and I start buying from 5000, until 7500 .... so I move market up by 50 %, and hope other traders will join me too, and hope some big player (who bought at 1000 lets say, for 100 btc) wont sell at 7500 :) if this happens, price can fall down heavily...but lets say this wont happen
So when other trades noticed (or their API) someone starts buying .. they join buying wave also, cause they also want to earn ... and price will rise even above 7500 .... but as i said, this is too risky for me

b, hold position ... therefore I prefer hold position. I choose undervalued crypto (details of undervalued crypto in 1st post), this undervalued crypto have to be small market with low volumes with low BTC orders, because we dont want to fight with "big players, big sharks" :) therefore If quark drops down by 40 % I wont start buying it before there is much more btc in market then we can imagine.

When I have undervalued crypto with low volume, i start buy it with a small volumes and hold position. What is holding position ? When I buy for 5000 - 5250 and price drops back to lets say 4980 .. i buy again .. I hold level 5000. When i see good opportunity to break level and push the price up (to 5300 - 5500) i would ... I try ... and maybe other traders join me maybe it will fall back to 5000. But ! ! !  I never try to break with a force. If I see big players there with big volumes ... I let them :) I wont fight when I am not 100 % sure I can win :) .. When I see I will have to spend lot of money to win fight, its not worth it

First and most important rule is protect my own capital.

If I am patient price will continuosly rise because other traders join my any my buys and undervalued crypto becomes stabilized and maybe overvalued, when Its overvalued I prefer selling my positions and ..get out as soon as possible as I am not gambler :)

I know I can lost high % of my balance, but if I sit down and do nothing I wont earn, I risk my capital but I risk it wisely.

If you got a high mining profitability,  then the likelihood of it being dumped for BTC/LTC is much higher.

I am not sure if I understand .. but

yes mining profitability is one of the most important indicators if currency is over/undervalued. if you have high revenue from mining, difficulty rising for last period and price is low .. then its higher chance price will rise.

If mining profitability is high, price high then its higher chance price will fall ? Why ? Beause lot of "miners" start selling their mined coins.

But please keep in mind I dont use words like "sure" "100%" "will rise" ..but .. i use higher/lower probability, because nothing is sure and nothing is 100% only taxes and death :(

Also keep in mind there should be external factors like... Very but very big players who join the market. I mean people/organization (chinesses :P ) who would like to invest 100 000 000 or more USD to drive price up. You cant predict those factors and they can drive price to crazy highs - like they did with BTC. BTC capitalization is 11 000 000 000 USD so therefore its market for biggiest players on Earth. :)

Btw:

GDC/BTC - Grandcoin - is at 950, this is veeeery overvalued :D I sold 80 % of my grandcoins becuse I dont think this price level will resist for long, if you can, start mining now and sell mined ones immediately.
edit: cryptsy shows high at 2200 ..it is fake spike, price never been there, 980 was highest high .. /cryptsy also have low at 1 .. 0.000000001 .. its also fake, price never been there yesterday :)/

I bought grandcoin few weeks ago so it is not valid trade signal :)

I have some positions in FST - need to get out from them and will focus on next trade

edit: 1st post edited ... as I recalculated my positions, my average sell price for NBL was 11000 ... so 70 % net gain

ELC/BTC

https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/12

Current price 172000.

Everything up to 199000 is good buy.

If you want to invest for example 1 BTC, invest max 50 % now and rest keep as a backup order for next 1-3 days, price may fluctuate around this level.

We aim for 350000.

God help us :)

My trading tip for today is to buy as much as you want/can afford to loose Devacoins and not selling until it hits 0,0015 BTC-level.
Excellent way of making lot of BitCoins if you can afford to loose a lot.

Please note, it is important to consider these altcoin investments as lost cases becase they may loose. However, the probability for Deva loosing is tiny and it is currently growing in really fast rate. Now there is a little ceiling but I am quite sure it will crash quite soon.
The target price for it is 0,001 and it will eventually go even higher as the mania phase starts and it comes more public. I am telling here when I will sell DevaCoins to you. However, it will not happen before it reaches my goals.
I made s trong buy-call to buy Devas at sub 100 satoshi-levels and my strong buy call is still valid. However, the fast buyers are eating the slow ones.  ;)
It will go up.

Edit: the biggest mistake is to sell DEVAcoins too early. If you sell them too early, you will have to buy them back for higher price and this is not ideal for making profit. There is very little selling interests at these ridiculously low levels.

Thank you for your tip :)

May I ask why you think devacoin will rise so much ? Are you owner of coin ? I will check that coin and maybe buy some :P where should I buy it ? cryptsy doesnt offer it. Your target price is pretty high, how many total devacoins will be mined ? Is there any thread with it ? ... Thank you for your answers in advance and good luck :)

btw: I can see huge buy support at 170000 at our elacoin, I also joined price level 170000, its weekend, so we should be patient for a few days :), I am still in trade, will update tomorrow, good luck, god help us :P

update: 15th.Dec - Elc price is about 115000, I tried move price up several times, but was unsucessfull, have aproximately 15 % of margin there (already bought) and will add some more positions at the beginning of the week, I will also try push price up, hope will be sucessfull :)

update: 16th.Dec - Elc-is about 150000, I had some buys at 115-125000, i saw there any other buyers joined me, we can see selling of majority of crypto-currencies, and that is more powerfull than 1 single buyer :) so there is nothing we can do right now, just wait and grab best prices

btw: grandcoin already selled from 950 to 600 so its price is little bit more realistic now ..

update: 17th.Dec - Els is about 105000, unfortunately there is huge sell on all cryptos, I am still in position, but will have to wait for some profit :)
