Title: mtgox question
Post by: jarvistripel on December 13, 2013, 03:43:23 PM
When I started mining a few months ago, I was sending all my BTC to mtgox and selling. After getting verified and everything I tried to get a my $$$ transferred into my bank account. That was in October. I still haven't seen a cent from them. Is this normal or should I be getting worried?

Is this normal?

This is normal for mtgox. http://bitcoinmagazine.com/7064/
And that's why people here always suggest to stay away from mtgox.

lots of people are having a hard time withdrawing fiat from mtgox despite verification.
withdraw your btc from mtgox instead.

Yeah. That was the last time I've used mtgox. Coinbase, on the other hand has been GREAT for cashing out. Usually 3 or 4 days and its in my account. Here is a referral link for my fellow newbies...

This is normal and you should be worried about this. No legit company delays withdrawals so long

I think it's normal.  TBH it seems like almost no companies are allowing ppl to withdraw fiat without a LONG wait.  At least I haven't heard of any.

I was waiting for verification for over three weeks - this morning I submitted an irate support ticket and my verification was approved within the hour. You might try hounding them, certainly there's nothing to lose by doing so.

Next step is to try and transfer btc out. From what I understand MtGox is slow as hell, but they don't seem to actively scam their users, do they?

It is normal but you should also get worried:).
Mtgox has some problems with $ withdrawals that actually are becoming a bit fishy. They had time after time to solve this. They have earned money after money to compensate for the frozen amounts yet.. nothing changed.

It's literally been weeks since I sent a verification request, sent an email too. No surprise, no response. Try https://www.kraken.com/ (https://www.kraken.com/). Their withdrawals are much quicker.

I had issues with Mt.Gox too.  I will never use them again.

I signed up for an account and submitted docs to be verified.  Their turnaround time indicated was 5 business days.  I was anxious (and stupid) to get going and deposited some BTC in my account a few days later.  A week passed and I hadn't been verified nor did they respond to my emails. I tried to transfer my BTC out of my account but the account was locked.  After several more days I opened a support ticket to release my BTC for transfer out.  They finally responded saying it would be fixed and I would be able to withdraw my funds.  After some more prodding and several days they verified my account and gave me a $1,000,000 USD daily withdrawal limit but zero BTC limit.  They were not reading my ticket or emails.  I responded as they indicated to update my BTC limit and several days (and oddly enough BTC going down $200 / coin) they increased my BTC limit so I could move my coins elsewhere.

I understand this is an ever changing and very fast paced environment, but if they are going to offer a service do what you are going to say or don't do anything at all.

Yes, very suspicious. Did MtGox made any honest announcement about the situation ?

Has Gox made any honest announcement for any situation?
Gox will never change , but until the big money will go to stamp or ... another exchange , gox is the place were the action unfolds.

Only daytraders wanting increase BTC stack are at MtGox. It is exchange where daytraders cannot enjoy their hard earned USD :D

There are plenty of euros there , and other currencies.
You can still withdraw euros and yens if you have a bank account.

Also , big players are not affected by this issue , at least rumors say so.
