Title: is this worth considering?
Post by: CanaryInTheMine on August 14, 2011, 04:22:20 AM
I know we're not supposed to skimp on PSUs.

What about using 2 of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817822013 ?
for about 800 Watts requirement...

will this die in about a month?

here's supposedly one of the higher end diablotek's PSU. this is the same unit that broke jonnyguru's PSU power delivery system. just read the review, the fact that this shady company will "cheat" and lie to customers about this PSU should be a big red flag to never trust any of their specs.

If you want to go cheap get 2 or 3 of these  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139026   or get this antec 750 for 60 dollars http://promotions.newegg.com/NEemail/latest/index-landing.aspx

Never buy diablotek, not if someone puts a gun to your head...  I have that Antec PSU btw... it works great too; running 5 HD 6770s on it without any trouble so far.
