The Vera's Burger Shack on Main Street now takes Bitcoin! They've been set up using the Co-op's open source POS. They are the first business on Main Street to do so. Corporate is watching to see how much publicity and business it brings, and soon Canada might have the first burger chain to accept Bitcoin!

it appears to be a trial in the single store address:   2922 Main Street, Vancouver, BC V5T
and the corporate HQ are watching that stores sales figures and staff ability to process without delaying customers, to choose if it will become standard across its other canadian stores to accept bitcoin

We will verify with photographic evidence in the event announcement we're going to make very soon.

I would totally go buy one with BTC if I were 1000km away from nearest location :(

But that canuck looks totally weird.
This is one thing I won't tell my children they can buy with bitcoins.

Great news. But while it might be the first Burger chain in Canada to accept BTC, another one (Burger Bear in London) was the first to do so in the entire world, I think.

So, are they up and running now?  As in, can I go tomorrow (Sunday) and pay for my burger with bitcoin?

This burger chain is in Canada, and not all Gyft cards work in Canada.  For example, I purchased a Sephore (make-up) Gyft card for my partner, but it didn't work when she tried in Victoria.  She ended up using it online in the US. 

Cool, Nice to see more and more business accepting Bitcoin ! I hope this is just the begining !

A regular sized combo with a pathetic 4 oz patty for 10 dollars? Wtf is this shit?

Here in Austin, TX I get an 8oz organic grassfed patty, cheddar, bacon, fresh baked bun, house made aioli, fries and a drink for the same money.

Finally , somebody that checked also what they sell and what price :).
Everybody else was thrilled by the bitcoin feature.

Cool! But with that prices I will better keep my BTC haha

I would not want to pay with BTC at this place.  By the time my transaction gets confirmed, my fries will be stale.

And you also get a mansion on 2 acres for $300,000.  We get a shitbox on a crappy lot in a bad east-side Vancouver neighbourhood for $1.4 million.

That's just how our city is, I'm afraid. It's a decent price by Vancouver standards.
