Hi everyone,

I'm new here and i got a question. I just started mining dogecoins at www.doge-pool.pixub.com (http://www.doge-pool.pixub.com) and getting like 800.000 dogecoins per day at a hashrate of 950kh/s.

Does anyone know the real value of the dogecoins in USD?
And when does the dogecoin goes to cryptsy?

I can't help you with the USD value, but I can answer your 2nd question: no ones knows but them. And the only way to get them to add it to their exchange is to ask them directly.

To get the value in USD, you just have to do a bit of math.  :D

Currently, on coinedup.com, a dogecoin is worth 37 satoshis.

So, if you mine 800k a day, it would be equivalent to about 0.3 btc a day.

Because a bitcoin is currently worth $850, that would mean that you are getting about $255 per day!  :o

For Dogecoin, I've read mostly 10k for $1 from sources like forums, and mostly Reddit's own marketplace. People do all kinds of crazy stuff for what they think will go up in value. You may have already heard some of them like the guy that shat on his own laptop screen for some Doge. I personally am hoping the value doesn't dramatically jump up until I can purchase some of my own or for when I can fix my mining issues.

I tried mining them for some time but had some trouble with pool and it didn;t gave me any doges... this is coin based on joke, so I wouldn't take it seriously, but it may have it's 5 minutes.

It's got value if there's demand and there seems to be DOGE all over the place lately.  I'm hoping it hits one of the larger exchanges and skyrockets, even if just for a short time, just need long enough to make a bunch of money off it.

They said that about bitcoin too in the beginning. Value is placed on objects because the free market wants to buy, sell, and exchange. As long as that happens, coins hold value. And since dogecoin is already being bought, sold, and traded, I think your assumption of it being dead in a month is far off from reality.

Doge obviously is worthless... The only people hyping it up are the kids who have mined millions of the coins because they could easily mine 100k+ a day..

It was definitely worth mining a week ago. I am not sure if this is still true now.

The value is going up, last time I saw it, it was around 12k for 0.01 BTC, and you can get that within a day with even an NVIDIA 650ti Boost. That's great considering I use Nvidia for gaming too. This coin may make me some money to put towards that special sale on PC games coming in a few days *wink* *wink*.

Probably, remember, the price of coins does matter a bit on how good the difficulty is or how many were mined. But the most important factor for people is the demand for the coin. If there is no demand, the coin wouldn't be worth alot now.

I think is its just another pump and dump. If i had the money and know how I could create another coin, pay a bunch of people(in that new coin) to spam on forums about the new coin so everyone will get onboard and when it is at a certain point sell or'dump' every single coin. That is how millionaires are made. Though if someone offered free doge coins i wouldn't say no :) but investing in it .. nah.

LOL, lot of butthurt altcoiners trying to piss on DOGE's massive popularity in order to protect their precious coins.... DOGE has everything that Bitcoin has and is more popular than Litecoin now... It's just been a week and look at it's reach... DOGE defenitely gonna be either second coin to Bitcoin or on par with Bitcoin.... I think this is hilarious and it just shows how easily the internet generation can be manipulated. Some people are making some serious money from Doge and it may even be successful in the long run if it maintains its popularity.

There is no doubt that this coin started as a joke and it is a good one.  I think its advantage is that its founders are not taking it seriously.

So if you got millions on the first day, I think you can come out okay, but I agree, I would not buy them.  With 100 billion to be minted no shortage is likely.  But then, if you told me they would be worth in one week a quarter of what Devcoin is, well, I would have said you were nuts too, so what do I know.

I think its main long term contribution will be getting newer people into mining, as that ship has mostly sailed for BTC, and that's a good thing.

I got into BTC when it was still relatively cheap.  Told some guys at work and they laughed at my fake WoW money.  Now they've all bought in at $1k.  Told them about Dogecoins and they laughed at my stupid meme money.  Jokes on them.

This coins success will come down to how much support it receives not only from the community(which seems strong at the moment) and the developers. I am not sure how well this coin is supported and how much time the developers are putting into at.

It doesnt hurt to mine some and keep them away in the event they do succeed.

I mined 30k in an hour first time I saw it on the forum, just for fun. Left it for a day, mining some other coins during that time...and then realized this might be worth something...went back to mining Doge but difficulty raised 8 times :/

This coin will be worthless once the meme dies down and is forgotten, as memes always fade. Because of the massive popularity of the coin due to its meme status, only a week later it's no longer a good idea to mine/invest. If you're holding DOGE, i'd say keep holding them until you notice the meme itself dying down. Personally, I'm going to sell what little I have a bit after the new year.

I don't like this coin, but as with every coin there's money to be made.
