Well....

About 6 weeks after the auction and waiting patiently I received a letter from Canada Border Services, prohibited importation unit...

Turns out the man is holding my fucking knives to "ensure admissibility".  I have a neighbor in the import broker business and is going to try to help me fill out the claim to have them released to me as a "collectible" (the COA may actually be a help for me if it was included!).

My buddy did say not to get my hopes up though as he's not sure if a longer blade knife is actually exempt as a collectible but since it doesn't cost me anything it's worth a shot.  He also mentioned if they are not released to me they will almost certainly be "destroyed"  >:(  So there just may be 2 less of these in the wild  >:(

iluvbitcoins is not responsible for any of this.  I paid and he shipped as per our agreement and as far as I'm concerned he has filled his obligation to me 100%.

So unfortunately just an FYI if you happen to live in a restrictive country like Canada you may have problems importing these lovely pieces  >:(

Ya man and it's gonna be another 2 months if I'm lucky enough to get them!  I'm also still waiting on another order from the EU which has been in transit more than 6 weeks iirc.  So I've been a little shy about participating in the raffles and auctions lately  >:(  Such is life I guess eh!!

FH, I thought you were in America the same as me? What could possibly be making customs/delivery take so long? Mine cleared extremely quickly, and has already arrived. Granted, it is the other design of knife, but I can't imagine that changes things very much. Also, what do you mean if you're lucky enough to get them? What would cause them to be ceased or returned? 6-weeks seems like an absurdly long amount of time for it to remain in transit, are you sure they haven't just lost your package?

That's a negative brother!  I'm Canadian, born and bread in the great white north!!!!

We have retardedly restrictive laws regarding weapons.  In this case it seems Canada Border Services is holding my knives because they believe the blades are too long and thus are considered a prohibited weapon and can not be imported...  I am trying with some help to claim them as exempt being a "collectible" but I was told not to hold my breath LOL!  If I don't get them they will be destroyed because they are illegal here...  Ya fucked up I know.

Part of the reason the American Politics interest me so much is I am EXTREMELY envious of some of the freedom's yall have that we up here don't.  Not to mention Canadian politics is boring as fuck LOL.  Don't get me wrong Canada is an amazing place to live and we have some great things I really love but man it's not perfect

That's how you became such a Liberal. ;)

Apprently.. The blade is only like 3 inches long, it's the smallest knife I own; granted, the assisted release means I can't carry it in the streets, I am still perfectly allowed to have it. I'm sure you have kitchen knives more menacing than this knife, so how can they possibly argue this is a prohibited weapon? It seems crazy that it would be destroyed, rather than sent back or forwarded. I would happily buy it and hang onto it for you, in case you ever want to immigrant to our great nation. :D

That's extremely interesting to me, because I've been really into Canadian politics lately. I'm very worried about some of the freedoms that are at risk, because many Americans believe Canada is better off, but this is a discussion for another thread. Canadians are all really nice, but sometimes that pleasantry gets take advantage of. C-16, Lindsey Shepard and Wilfred Laurier is a great example.

LOL yes sir I believe you hit the nail on the head!

I absolutely do, I also have a Gerber Broadcut machete with a fucking 13.1" blade I use for hacking bush and it is a beast and quite menacing.  When the zombie apocalypse hits that motherfucker will be chopping heads with me!!!.  I bought that quite legally from Bass Pro (Cabela's up here).

I literally I have no information why they are holding them.  All it says in the letter I got is they are holding them to "determine admissibility"  I called the number and emailed them but it did say in the letter it would be about 8 weeks.  A neighbour of mines is a broker and is going to try to help me but until they decide yes or no all I can do now is wait!

In terms of being destroyed, as I understand it if they are deemed as prohibited they immediately become property of the Canadian Government.  All "prohibited" weapons seized are destroyed.

That's extremely interesting to me
Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence eh?  Happy to continue this discussion elsewhere brother!

Ahhhh...goodluck man...ive had stuff vanish in customs here with usps registered mail. For expensive items I go with Fedex...more money but also faster and more professional too. Cheers bro
