Why don't you try to use the method of the reddit OP to send his 8 remaining ETH to his address. The only problem he hasn't solved yet is how in the hell he can't send his Token. Now it is a good time for you to pass to Exodus wallet exodus.io (http://exodus.io) as it is the best desktop multicoin wallet which has a SEED (12 words) which you safeguard it once and restore the wallet in bad case scenarios like not remembering the password or losing access to the computer because of a virus or a ransomware.
