Title: I want options Post by: FreeMoney on February 22, 2011, 01:24:06 AM Is anyone willing to offer me a price on the option to buy coins at $1/btc unitl April 1st? I'm looking for up to $1000. Long forum rep or escrow would be good.
Title: Re: I want options Post by: ribuck on February 22, 2011, 11:48:36 AM I will do it for $100. I know it's a high price, but the overall trend is for the bitcoin price to be rising rapidly.

This is not expensive. It would suggest implied volatility of about 145% which is not much based on daily bitcoin variability. Thanks for the quote. It's higher than I hoped, but not outrageous. Would you offer a better price on a smaller deal? Say $35 for 500? Title: Re: I want options Post by: Stephen Gornick on February 22, 2011, 08:44:49 PM Would you offer a better price on a smaller deal? Say $35 for 500? You might wish to place a call option bid on Bitcoin-OTC: Call Options using ClearCoin Escrow http://wiki.bitcoin-otc.com/wiki/Option_orders (http://wiki.bitcoin-otc.com/wiki/Option_orders) The syntax for your inquiry above would be entered as: ;;buy 500 btc at 1.00 PPUSD "call option premium 0.07 PPUSD expires 01Apr11" The premium for $0.07 PPUSD for each of the 500 BTC optioned totals $35. So that would be a good deal for anyone who thinks Bitcoins will still be worth less than $1.07 at the end of March and wishes to earn $35 for simply putting 500 BTC in escrow for about 40 days. [Edit: the option seller earns $35 less the 4 BTC escrow fee for 500 bitcoin escrow]. |
