Title: newbie multibit problem
Post by: 1inversely on December 16, 2013, 02:37:35 AM
I sent bitcoin to my new multibit wallet private address.  It never showed up.  I have tried to reset block chain and transactions 20+ times.  I have tried creating a new wallet and exporting the old wallet multibit.key and then importing them into the new wallet.  and of course refreshing the block chain and transactions...
I have transaction id and in transaction details status states 0/unconfirmed.
I've look through message boards, but often find unknown jargon and unrealistic "just do this"  loaded with unknown terms type stuff.

Go here: https://blockchain.info/

Search for you Bitcoin address with the search bar. See if the transaction shows up for your address.

Searched sent to address:  site indicates 0 received 0 transactions
Does that mean the coin was never sent?
bitcoin was sent from my laptop bitcoin wallet to my new desktop multibit wallet.
laptop wallet indicates coin was sent, and I now have zero balance.
Double checked address it seems to be correct.
Taking things off my laptop bitcoin wallet because day 121 error in updating wallet Exception 11Dbexception db not enough space

Did the coin get stuck in limbo because wallet will not sync (121 days behind)?
Is that the direction I should pursue?

I am now trying to download latest edition of bitcoin qt and see what that will do for me.  255 weeks behind on this one great!

tap. tap. tap.  114 weeks behind now.  Not bad I guess.
If anyone has advise please feel free to chime in.

The blockchain is the most accurate place to check and if it doesn't appear there then it hasb't been sent. Perhaps sent to a false address? And have you tried re-opening the computer wallet.

Maybe you mistyped new address? Or coins never sent because bitcoin-qt was out of sync.

I am thinking the out of sync idea.  I'll find out soon wallet is 11 days behind.
This was all me sending and receiving address was triple checked.

I did try to reopen the wallet several times.  No go.  10 days behind... but I am off to work so wont know until few hours from now.

Thanks

I had this happen but not with the wallet you mentioned. I was able to recall the coin back as it went appeared in the other wallet. Is there a way to recall it?
