Title: What is the proper expiry and scan-time for solo mining low diff altcoins?
Post by: Overspeed on December 16, 2013, 09:30:22 AM
I am seeing a lot of different opinions on this. At present, I am solo mining low diff (0-5) alt coins at 3000kh/s. My cgminer expiry and scan-time are set to 2 and 1. As I understand it, expiry define the length in seconds cgminer will spend trying to solve a block before it gives up. A lower value will help reduce stales. IS this true? Is my value too low? I have no idea what scan-time does honestly. When I was pool mining LTC, these values seemed to serve me well my solo mining low diff alts, this might now be the case? Thoughts?
