Title: China and Bitcoin taking vows again?
Post by: Juggy777 on May 11, 2018, 08:44:29 AM
We all know for a very long time China has been up in arms against bitcoins, it used to a bitcoins friendly country and suddenly they changed the rules and brought in regulations. Today one of the biggest manufacturers of mobile phone i.e. Huawei is pre installing btc wallets in their phones and that's a huge development and if I must say the Chinese are back with a bang. I'm expecting this shall surge the prices in the coming days.

What do you make of it, will prices rise (my guess yes), or a ploy to sell their product?

But while huawei has pre-installed bitcoin wallets, it has no Chinese users.
So it doesn't seem to me to be a positive sign. ::)

Preinstalling btc wallet is not a good move IMO since NOT EVERYONE WHO BUYS A HUAWEI SMATPHONE KNOWS HOW TO USE A BITCOIN WALLET. I think it is just a waste to do it because users can simply uninstall it if they root their phones(or if it isn't in categorized as one of the system apps). Nevertheless, I think this will help spread information about Bitcoin and how to use it.

China is only and only  businessman which will take only and only those actions which serve the benefits in it's own favor.  It will allow only such actions which are beneficial to China though those activities may cause any big loss to any country or the people of any other country.
As stated in the news the Mobile company is multinational company; so it may be possible that they are manufacturing the phones only for exports purposes which may not be allowed to sell in China.
Access to apps like BTC.com’s is limited in China as the government blocks Android’s Google Play Store and some parts of Apple’s App Store.
So expecting any favor from China may just be day dreaming.

It seems that this is an independent company's move, and the PRC or the Chinese banks don't have any say regarding this. It's a nice marketing strategy, considering that the talks about the blockchain tech and cryptocurrencies seem to be afloat these past few days. Unless the Chinese government release an official statement regarding their stance on their cryptocurrency, it would just be another naysay and gossip. Companies and organizations are slowly shifting towards the blockchain tech, so this might be a hint towards Huawei adopting the tech into their company and services.

Even I am confused. I thought China sort of disagree with the idea of cryptocurrency, how are they able to get this proposal approved by their government?

I guess this is indeed how the Chinese seem to operate. It was the same with the exchanges. They just did it, no regrets. Eventually the government said "don't do this".

I personally don't think so. People are used to buying phones with lots of bloatware in it(those apps that are there that you can't uninstall, and that you never actually use). This bitcoin app they're adding just might fall unto the bloatware category. Yes, it's going to be there and people are going to see it. But I don't think much people would actually act on it and be curious about it. Any publicity is good publicity though, so I'd still say this is good news.

I think this is good news for bitcoin. I am sure those who use huawei phones in China will be curious about the bitcoin  wallet    in their phones. And this could attract more Chinese to invest in bitcoin.

wow this is great news , this is more proof that bitcoin has etched a position for itself in the "new" financial sector that is currently under development. what adds to the value of this announcement is the fact that its a Chinese company that's making these items , suggesting that maybe China's stance on bitcoins may be changing slowly but surely and this would be great for bitcoins because the Chinese people are huge investors in the crypto world and therefore full acceptance would mean a tremendous increase in coin prices as people would now be able to freely invest.

I do not really expect too much from this news, because it could be that the market Huawei wants to take is not a market in China but outside of China, because it could be the terms and conditions set by the government of China will not change them is about Banned ICO and cryptocurrency...

We all know for a very long time China has been up in arms against bitcoins

they managed to get the price of bitcoin to fall every time they put their hard rules

I'm expecting this shall surge the prices in the coming days.

I do not think it will cause the price to increase in the next days

The way i looked at it, its  one of the good thing these days. because of this people are no longer thinking the bad side of Bitcoins it is because another big company like Huawei is adopting it to their technology.

this may be another way of thinking, but it will not increase much demand for bitcoin and we need a lot of demand, we need people to buy bitcoins, we need people to be interested in bitcoin technology

A company in China is pre installing bitcoin wallets does not mean that the government is accepting the new market, i am really not sure why they wanted to crack down the entire market when they were planning to regulate the exchanges last year and i do not understand what happened after that, this news wont make any changes in the market because it is just a company seeing the trend and adding new application.

It's good news. But most of their customers are not Chinese. However, I expect cryptocurrency awareness to rise as a result of this, thereby leading to price increases. But the main issue is yet to be solved: immunizing investors and holders against FUDs. Look up the charts today. They're all red :(

Here's the original article that started the news. They changed the wording after a couple hours.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-05-10/huawei-is-about-to-give-chinese-users-easier-access-to-bitcoin

Here's someone who took a screen shot of the original article before the edit: https://twitter.com/Beautyon_/status/994673137370501120

Basically, Huawei will now offer a BTC wallet in their appstore. The price will definitely not surge because of this news.

“It’s a good opportunity to tap into the Chinese market. The use of cashless payments with apps is very big and the traditional banking system is lacking, so there’s a good use case for crypto payments to grow there. I like this statement in the made. I still believe whether they come in or not Bitcoin will do well... Presently dropping again but we should set our mind.. That it will surely goes up again. So we should take up this opportunity to buy and hold for more massive profit.

They worked well as legally so illegal, but still some sort of potential connection, meidou them of course there is, so don't even deny watching the development of this theme.

This is a good news. There are two sides here. (One), Chinese companies do it for their business. They come in the market of all the countries of the mobile world. They are just trying to hold that market. (Two), they may have been aware of Bitcoin, so it is thinking of using it. But nowadays it is not good to make transactions now.

In the article mentioned that the pre-installed wallet is from BTC.com's wallet so it might be secured though it might be not since I don't use their wallet and no experience at all but still a good news.

Just don't forget that China banned cryptocurrency including bitcoin. So I don't know how Huawei had come up this idea since they know about the rules and law on their country about cryptocurrency since they are china-based.

Its just a wallet. China has NO ROLE in this. Don't mislead users to something that is not exactly true. China has not entered the markets, this is mere FUD. China has nothing to do with this,as Hauwei were on its own,by just pre-installing a software on their phones. China has still imposed regulations and has still banned crypto.

China right now is biggest market in the world. I hope China government allowing bitcoin or cryptocurrency transaction and if they allowed, I am believe cryptomarket will rising again and back to highest market cap.
I think huawei or china's manufacture just see the opportunity in cryptomarket, but they should be have a trust on crypto, thats why they make bitcoin wallet pre-installed on their phone

Huawei's BTC wallet is open to users outside China! BTC is forbidden in China!

This is just a marketing strategy for huawei's mobile phone, which can attract people's attention only if it is related to the block chain in this era.

Just like not everyone who owns an iPad or Android phone knows how to use the general facilities and apps installed. But that doesn't and shouldn't stop the manufacturers from making such hi-tech phones. For instance, my mum uses an Android phone but the only thing she does on it is make and receive calls. So?

What do you make of it, will prices rise (my guess yes), or a ploy to sell their product?
To start with, I think price will soar soon for this news. But truth be told - To Hell With China!

I guess you meant FOMO, not FUD.

They will be using the BTC.COM wallet and we know who is behind that, right? Yes you guessed it, Bitmain Technologies. So for the conspiracy theory buffs out there, this one will be a good topic for world domination. Will they also slip in some code to give Chinese users a little advantage over the rest of the world, like they did with the mining?  ;D <AsicBoost>

They can keep their Bloatware, I will install my own wallet, not connected to Bitmain.  ::)
