Title: What is the significance of locking a topic?
Post by: PROTO_Token on May 11, 2018, 07:21:10 PM

Probably a dumb question.  Tried a few searches.  Could not find any answers.

Please advise.

You or mods can lock the topic which you started, reason could be any thing like

- Your question or topic you started has been answered
- You don't want any more replies on certain topic
- Discussion is steering away from the actual purpose of the topic

So in simple words it depends on YOU

Suggestion move your this topic to Bitcoin Forum > Other > Beginners & Help (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=39.0), it's more suitable board

You lock a topic once you get your answer. It stops stupid, useless post count padding.
