Title: Please help! Using Guiminer on new Mac with Intel HD Graphics 4000
Post by: cclr67 on December 17, 2013, 04:54:08 PM
Greetings,
I'm a newbie to this forum and to Bitcoin. Did considerable research and opted to go with Guiminer and Slush's Pool. I read elsewhere in this forum that the Intel HD Graphics 4000 is OpenCL capable, but I am unable to select it from the "device" dropdown in Guiminer. I just started mining 48 hours ago, and can only utilize my processor. Needless to say my new Mac is bogged down and only mining at 1.8 or 2 Mhash/s. Is there a way to utilize my graphics card? Perhaps a different mining program like Diablo? Or am I wasting my time and electricity?
Thanks very much.

You dont have a graphics card those are on board graphics a graphics processor built into your ivy bridge processor that shares your computers ram. yes it is capable of opencl but it is still just your processor.
