Title: Getting started with Bitcoin
Post by: Aryan on December 17, 2013, 06:41:37 PM
Dear Respected Members,
I got to know regarding Bitcoins 3 days back and I have joined this forum 2 minutes ago and so very much new to this platform. I want to make an optimum use of this opportunity. I saw a video over youtube.com regarding minig and how to get started but it was too complicated for me to understand.
Anyways, I have still downloaded Bitcoin-0.8.6 software along with Guiminer (both for windows-32bit). Please help me to get started. I shall be highly obliged.
Thanks in advance.  :)

Well (I'm just assuming) it sounds like you're just mining using your regular computer - not a specialized mining rig.  If that's the case, I'd recommend that you try mining an AltCoin that's a little easier and that you can then trade for BTC.

You can learn about all kinds of different AltCoins (AKA Alternative Cryptocurrencies) here: http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency

and here:  http://www.wheretomine.com

Once you find a coin you like and want to try to mine, you can find their thread on this forum for more information on how to mine (or just come back and ask...I'm happy to help, and so are most others here)

Hope this is helpful!

Dear colleagues,
Don't you think that mining hardware is being sold in times when mining is less profitable or productive than before?

Hey buddy,
Welcome to the Cryptoland !  :)

Try Multibit for now to get started, it won't download the whole 14gb blockchain.
