Nearly ten years later and no, they literally never stopped. These days its coins on top of coins. Found this coin by looking at this site, pretty interesting stuff: https://mapofcoins.com/bitcoin/apecoin_ape It ends in 2017 but its great that whoever created it has kept it going.
