Private key is the group of numbers that is used to encrypt or decrypt the public address. You can do transactions with the help of this private key. So realize the importance of private key and if you have one keep it very confidential to make your account more secure.

An alphanumeric string of characters, kept secret by the user and used to sign a digital transaction based on a public key. When using a Bitcoin client, private keys are stored in a wallet file, of course they can be exported and saved on a piece of paper.

The private key contains 51 combined characters (alphanumeric and numeric), which makes it almost impossible to guess it for hackers. You can see the public address as a mailbox, and the private key is also the key to opening it

Mate as thirdspace said, why you have to ask it if you already know what's the importance of private key?

Just understand that a public key is always paired with a private key.  You have a public key (or address) that others can send you money.  You then need the private key to sign and spend money.  So you want to look for wallets that allow you to hold your private keys.  Online exchanges typically own your private keys.  That will allow them to sign and send money on your behalf.  That is obviously is convenient but is susceptible to hacks.  If they are hacked, then they can lose your private keys, and you lose your money.

We use the bank to save money. Private-key is used to store crypt-currency. Private-keys are like check books and addresses are bank accounts. Addresses are used to make the token transaction others. The private key is used to make the token transaction itself.

The purpose to use a private key is the identification of your wallet and the private key is the security of your wallet from hackers

which purpose we are uses private key ?
Consider your private key as your debit card pin code, your public key as your bank account no. which you usually give others to receive money, blockchain ledger as your trusted bank. Practically if you want to spend your fiat money that is stored in the bank you actually swipe the card and insert your pin code for the transaction to get processed successfully. Same is with cryptocurrency if you want to spend your coin/token that is stored in blockchain you actually need to insert your private key to get your transaction processed which proves you are the actual owner of your public address.

From what I understand, a private key is a key to your wallet that allows access to your bitcoins and is used to recover your wallet. It’s like a digital signature that allows someone to use their Bitcoin.
