Title: Dogecoin mining pool
Post by: Getzin0 on December 18, 2013, 05:29:14 PM
Hi there, I just wanted to ask people about what the best programme to use and pool for GPU mining. I only have a hashrate of 130Mhashes/s but I am just looking to make a little bit of dogecoin for future sale. Thanks :)

CUDA for nvidia mining is ideal. For AMD/ATI I'd use CGMiner.

Pools is a guess with it being so new. I'd go to one that is semi-popular so you can see coins moving, and also to reduce risk of getting a scampool :P

Do you know the names of any semi popular mining pools?

as mentioned ideally you want to do GPU based mining. cgminer is good.

also good pool with 0% fee is http://doge.cryptovalley.com.

hope this helps.

I just joined to discuss dogecoin as well.
I have started mining on the http://doge.gentoomen.org/ pool with cgminer.
I'm getting around 500Kh/s with my AMD GPU (set up for low volume so I could probably push it a bit more), though. Your hash/s value seems very high. Did you perhaps mean Kh/s?
Or maybe my setup's just crap.... :(

I'm using this:
http://fast-pool.com/ (http://fast-pool.com/)
0.7-0.8 GHash/s ~1000 miners
cgminer cmd.bat:
"cgminer --scrypt  -o stratum+tcp://fast-pool.com:3333 -u user -p pass -I 11 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 3200 -g 1"
I usually get around 120 khash/s with 1 HD 5770. And over 190 khash/s with I 18, but then the computer becomes very laggy.

As already answered, CGMiner & CUDAMiner depending on your graphics card.

This site has cards with batch file settings, and performance statistics.

I've been using http://fast-pool.com/ for three days now.

It's pretty fast and stable. Not a single hiccup in these three days.

Mining for doge is completely useless now, the difficulty is already roughly on half of what feathercoin is on right now. Although none really knows where this silly coin may end up ;). I wish you the best of luck sir!

I had really good results at http://doge.cryptopool.it/ at the beginning. Didn't mine for a few days though.

I wish I could say the same. That was the first pool I tried about a week ago. Seemed to work ok for about half a day when I was getting into it.

Since then, the web site is unresponsive most of the time. Also, the pool doesn't pay out. I've got nearly 500 dogecoins stuck there. Had auto payout set to 100, nothing. Have tried manual payout, nothing. It may not be much, but I mined it, I want it. Took a good half an hour just to get the system to respond enough for me to support request. I'm totally disgusted. I stopped mining on their pool and just want my coins so I can move on.

I can recommend http://doge.poolerino.com/. My hardware isn't special, but some DOGEs are getting into my wallet :3 Plus you can get there some free coins and that's the reason I'm posting.

Good luck and to the moon dogies!

The site is currently getting upgrades, they said it'll be up tomorrow. I believe I remember seeing the minimum payout at something like 10,000 DGE. you should be able to log in tomorrow and do a manual cashout of your coins though.

Thanks for this. Just registered and am mining on them right now. much happy :)

Unfortunately, because I'm a new user, I can't post in the poolerino thread yet, so won't be eligible for the free coins content. such sad. :(

Thanks again.

I always check what the values are because I know that different pools have different minimums. Some are 1000, some are 5000. Their's said it was 100. It was one of the reasons I tried their's first.

Their website is just as horribly non responsive now has it has been for over a week. They don't put any updates on their home page about what is going on. They still haven't replied to my support request. For the past two days when I try to do an manual payout, it gives an error that one is already pending. Yet all my coins are still sitting over there, so the transfer hasn't even been initiated yet.

wow.
much angry.

If I delete my worker from a pool, will my earned credit get erased too, or does that get redistributed into their pool again? I've honestly given up that I'll ever get my coins from them. But I don't want them to have them either, because quite frankly, they don't deserve them.

(Edit reason: Typo)

Nothing. Don't worry about it.

Rarely will any pool stats respond well when you have have such a low hash rate.

I have two computers running minerd that I'm getting a whole combined 3kh/s from. Took over a day before the dashboard of the pool I'm on to even show me contributing any hash and both my workers show as not active (though if I sit there and keep hitting refresh over and over, every once in a while, I'll see one or the other worker shown as active for a second.)

It has something to do with the hash scale. Long ago when cpu mining was all there was, that little hash was a significant part of a pool. But with all the cheap high power graphic cards that support mining, scrypt pools are all starting to get quite a rate going, and that little hash becomes insignificant in the calculations. Currently, the net hash rate of Dogecoin's is something like 23Gh/s with Forkpool running at 80Mh/s, and Poolerino running at 608Mh/s. There are only a handful of other functional pools, so it seems that quite a large percentage of people are solo mining DOGE.

EDIT: Actually, there are a lot of pools for DOGE now, I didn't notice the pool list was updated recently. So maybe there are not so many solo mining after all.

http://doge.cryptopool.it/........ many sigh

Connecting to the webpage is worse than ever.

They still haven't replied to my support request.

They are still holding my coins. For the past couple of days, it's been telling me I had a pending manual payout and wouldn't let me initiate another. But still never received anything. So last night, i tried again, and no error this time, it happily created a new manual payout. But come this morning, still nothing. So I tried it yet again, expecting an error. Nope, it let me initiate another manual payout. Then just to test, I tried another manual payout just 10 minutes later, absolutely expecting a pending transfer error. No error and it created yet another manual payout request. Not that it does any good. This makes for like the 7th time I've tried.

doge.cryptopool.it is a complete joke. I'm hesitant to say scam, but I'm really starting to lean towards thinking that. And it's just DOGE, the other pools running out of cryptopool.it seem to be working just fine (at least their websites are quick and responsive). So what the heck?

Thank DOGE the other pools are good. Like Poolerino and forkpool. Been using both, and both work great.

So, http://doge.cryptopool.it/'s website has been working very well for several days now.

Unfortunately, they still haven't replied to any of my previous support requests.

Auto and manual payouts are still not working, and trying to send a new support requests just generates an error that your message could not be sent. Figures. Guess they are tired of all the emails they are getting and ignoring.  ::)

At this point, I'm willing to call them a scam.

Hi there...

I can recommend you to: https://www.suchcoins.com/

it is a great pool, stable, no problems, updated info... everything what you would expect from professional site... I mine with 2400MHash and get somewhere around 50.000 dogs

before that I used http://doge.cryptovalley.com/

but it becomed the worst pool ever... in last 48 hours with same mining I got 10.000 dogs... at this moment it is working already 11h without reward. And also it has every week some problems like stop working :)

also, there was: http://doge.poolerino.com/

it was ok. stable, with low income, but suddenly dissapear with all of the dogs :)

Thanks for the link. Looks like a good one for sure.

Seems to be a trend.

http://doge.cryptopool.it also vanished a week ago, also with all the dogs. Not that they paid out anyways.

And people wonder why DOGE is doing so poorly and considered a joke. Maybe because half the pools are thieving scams.

That's it, I'm done with DOGE, as much as I hate abandoning it.  :'(

Thanks to the fork from 2 days ago, I lost another batch of doge coins, despite updating my wallet, deleting the old block chain and re syncing from the very beginning.

Since starting with DOGE, I've lost close to 75% of everything I mined between scamming pool operators and borked blockchain.

Complete BS and a total waste of my time.  ::)

Ok, so I can't stay away from DOGE, I like the idea too much.

That said. Can someone answer a technical question?

Before I realized that DOGE chain forked, I had made a transfer that obviously never showed up at it's destination.

Today, 11 days later, that transaction completed!  ???

Now don't get me wrong, I'm glad it finally went through. But HOW? Forked chains can't be merged or cross again. My transaction should have simply been lost to the bad fork. Can anyone explain this?

Check out https://ghash.io/. Here you can either connect your miner to the average scrypt DOGE pool or to our Multipool, where the most profitable coin is being mined at any given moment. As a rule, DOGE is in top-2.
