Last year, the market saw a bull run in mid may where the market grew 25% in a short time.

What happened?
Of course, people are generally in better moods during Spring and as school years are coming to a close.

But what specifically happened, was Consensus 2017, one of the most important crypto conferences in the world with thousands of participants.
Although there are conferences now with higher amounts of people, Consensus has always been important in that the top crypto industry leaders gather along with high ups from banks, government agencies, and big name companies.
It is sponsored by Coindesk and this year is unique in that New York is making a concerted effort to make it so that there are a lot of incentives for Crypto startups to be successful (New York is aiming to be the crypto capital of the world).
It is where a LOT of major networking and deals are done.

Consensus 2018 is from next monday to wednesday.

Are we going to see similar bull run?
This past week the market slumped a bit which is actually a good sign.
Sentiments are high and hopeful and if next week manages to pump, I believe it will be a full on signal for everyone to jump in and initiate the bull run.

Hard to make a compelling case on just one instance. This is the 4th conference so if it also went up after the conference in 2015 and 2016 you might be able to make some sort of argument that it has an effect on the market. But this market still reacts heavily to any bad news like it did this week to Korean authorities investigating one of the Korean exchanges, so I would not take out a second mortgage and put it in Bitcoin just to try and play the effect of the Consensus Conference on coin prices.

The 3-day Consensus event of 2018 is coming on May 14 to discuss everything about blockchain and cryptocurrency. Hosted by Coindesk and having New York Economic Development Corporation as a co-host this time, the event boasts of leading industry names as attendees.

I hope the same will happen this year, the bull run will happen in mid-May or at the latest in early June, what will happen at the meeting held by the coin desk will affect the state of the market in May and June, I can not wait waiting for the day of the meeting.

We could definitely, and this correction may be a pretty good time to get in to ride the rally.

Though past performance doesn't always indicate that something is for sure going to happen in the future. The overall trend of the market right now is still overwhelmingly bearish, and it'll be hard to change that.

There could be a short bull run when the consensus 2018 happens, but that isn't going to change much in the context of the whole year. But yeah, if you want to bet on BTC rising in the short term, then accumulate some BTC for cheap now, and dump it when consensus drives prices up.

I also think this conference will attract a lot of people, so this is obviously good news.
So the whole market should be on the rise. ;D

This can be a game charger. With the previous dump that happened i think this will make a bullish effect across the market on or after the conference. It will be another bench mark for the crypto world. Hold kn tight the bull run is coming!

Not sure about that gives a huge impact to the crypto next week, If there will be more and more bad news attacking crypto and it looks like the bull run will have gotten a delay. The trend of the cryptocurrencies is depending on the news and market reaction. Another bullrun will be happening in the next month i suppose.

The purpose of the sharp drop is to attract new investors, as if all the peaks are on the upward trend. Intelligent people will not be there at the moment, the latest adjustment is to create conditions for new investors to join and from there the market will open a new era.

I am also expecting the Bull run start soon. But we don't assure the Continuous pump some peoples are said it will start in this month and some peoples are said it will raise in next month so we must wait see the future results because anytime some issues are affected in Crypto market it will reflected Bitcoin and altcoins.

The Consensus 2018 is a big event and we have to wait for its outcome, I think we'll see a good bull sooner than later.

I agree with you, as its very hard rather impossible to predict how future market will behave. These are just speculations that market will go up or down next week or month due to such and such news and that never happens.

Personally, I have a very strong believe in the cryptocurrency market and I'm very sure the uptrend/bulish will soon return but I can't say when it will definitely started. So, let us wait and see what will happen in the next 2-3weeks.

This big event might help raise the price of the bitcoin but I don't think it can cause a bullrun this week, it may be a usual up and down cycle. There are still a lot of people who to manipulate bitcoin price and some critics are seem determined to bring down the top cryptocurrency and this upcoming Consensus 2018 should address this problems.

The conference in new york will certainly give a boost to the market. The movement of the bitcoins from mt gox was actually timed correctly as he knew the market would dump, but then it will recover during conference week. Hopefully at this time next week we will see not just a recovery but an overall increase in market prices.

Can't be sure of this. Same thing was said about the previous week that  a bull run was coming but we all know how that went, prices dropped back down and is only now starting to pick up and recover again. We have been shown times without number that there really is no way for anyone to predict the market and to know where the prices go so we just have to wait and watch.

We are waiting for the bull run for two full months. The bear season hurt us a lot. We're getting bored now. The money market needs to be improved as soon as possible. If we continue like this, we will experience more losses.

Many are hopeful that crypto market would start a bull run but it seems whales and big traders are not yet done with their plan to squiz more on new investors whom usually are in panic  whenarket is slumped and force to sold fheir coins for a lower price hoping to cut further losses.

Well it is unfortunate that the consensus came and gone and we didn't witness the bull run because the price only managed to increase just a little bit and afterwards it went down.

This is so true, we indeed saw a bullish run last month, but a massive decline this month. Hope the market recovers soon because we all are waiting for bitcoin to go beyond the ATH set last year.

It will depend on the key players. As I can consider myself as an expert in ICOs field and investment, so I can give you some advice. You need to choose it really careful and study all about ICO project which you want to invest in. For example, an experience of a team, a value of the project, uniqueness and then read some comments about it. When the bullish market will happen know one knows anymore even the people who are so good at predicting future price has all missed it for months now. One thing I know is that the bullish will take us all by surprise.

The 2018 consensus does not leave any meaningful impact on the crypto market because I could remember that it was during the consensus that the price of some Cryptos went down. This year consensus doesn't impact crypto positively.

I check in the exchanges, there are a green line shows and I think it will stay like that for the next week and who knows, it will attract the price to increase higher. this makes the altcoin following to increase and many of altcoin is on the green line too. our hope is on the way and I think we can see that the price can reach more than $6500 again and even reaching $7000.

It's evident that the bull run is coming, that's sure but no one actually knows when. Everyone expected the market to boom before, during or after concensus 2018 but we all saw how that turned up. While we may not know the exact timing of the next bull trend, The end of the year is usually a good time to look forward to.

I am always predicting when will the next bull run but I failed. Honestly, it's hard to predict when it will happen again. I hope this prediction would come within the year since btc market last month (June) wasn't a good enough for the crypto market. Though, there are many people supporting btc who had contributed  further with respect to it's performance growth,  but if the whale investors would make another manipulation in the market, then fluctuations would again be experienced and this has been happening several times already.

What happened in December-January wasn`t a bullrun, but  a well orchestrated artificial hype/pump..
Which changed minds of crypto participants, as it`s usual to have such artificial rises.
In fact, it damaged every of us, so that 90% newbies are just sitting and waiting for next bullrun, as it will definitely happen..

the last year altcoin pump was like that because of a couple of reasons:
1. the altcoins were pumped but not yet in the huge bubbles that they currently are in. so you can't expect the same thing as long as they are in bubbles.
2. there were a lot of fresh money (newbies) coming in thanks to bitcoin and its rise. which meant a lot of newbies who would fall for the pumping schemes and help the bubbles grow bigger.
3. it was the pumping season so the whales and everyone else were actively pumping everything they could get their hands on.

I think the market will take a long time to recover, so we need to have enough patience to wait. As long as we have enough patience, I believe we can get more wealth and expect the bull market to arrive soon.

Almost two months later no bull run. I think we should stop judging or predicting this year's  market or price movement by the way it was last year because so far so good this year has defied that timeline.

I might have happened. The fact another resistance for bitcoin has broken, a little green candle signals have appeared. There will be another huge jump to the 7k rate but it will have happened at the end of this week. The crypto will increase gradually. I believe we are still on the way to reach another ath in the future.

This year consensus did not bring much price increase unlike last year consensus which saw a great bull run during the event program, a lot of people have stay away from cryptos because many lost their money during the bear market and it will take a while for people to invest again.

Nobody knows for sure when the market will go up. That's why we can only guess when the bulls come. But it seems to me that the real growth will not begin until the fall of 2018. But today we must use all opportunities that the market gives us.

Its hard to predict it when will happen, this is according to big player who will jump in to the crypto market, because bull run will happen if big money come in to this market. But usually in 1 years duration will be any 1 times for bull run, so wait patient for that is only way we can do that, and dont sell your coin in the bottom price because you will loss big money.

I think all investors in crypto-currencies want a bull market. Yesterday the market was all green. I believe the bull market will come soon, perhaps at the end of the World Cup.

I think that the next massive bullish move we can see after August 10, when the SEC may well fertilize bitcoin futures, after which the altcoins will fly in time. If there is a failure, the market will fly down again. The situation is similar to the situation after Consensus.

I would very much like to believe in this, but as long as there is the certainty that the stagnation can drag on until the middle of October. It is then that I think there can be some meaningful changes.

Its very difficult to predict it, i was thinking bull run will started 1 week ago but bad news of hack make my prediction failed, patient and patient wait for that thing is better to make better profit. Try as hard as you may, there is no way for you or anyone to accurately predict the price of the coins and how the market will move in the next couple of weeks. I want a bull run as much as anyone else but I am also realistic and I do realize that while we all want the market to bull, it might take a while, maybe a couple of months or years for this bear market to fully run its course.

Everyone in this community is looking for bottoming out. But that is not seeming to happen as of now. Prices have broken then strong support levels around $600 and made low up to $5800 in some exchanges. Probably this must dictate the exact bottom of current down trend or we may experience another range bound between $10k to $6k levels.

we can say that the bull run will come to the next week but the truth is we don't know when it comes and we can only watch and check the price in the market. maybe the price can increase for a little price and then it will back to the lower price and if this is happening right now, then we have more chance to buy bitcoin at the lower price and we can save for the next higher price. I don't mind if the price is up and down like today because it is a good chance for me to trade and make a profit and if the price can get a pump so high then it means my profit will bigger.
