Title: Crowdfunding twitter #hashtags for random picks
Post by: remotemass on December 18, 2013, 11:53:02 PM
Here is an idea:

A charity with a site would provide a bitcoin address for any twitter hashtag that was getting popular.
People could raise money for that hashtag using the corresponding bitcoin address.
Any twitter sent with that hashtag would have its user have his twitter account username added to a numbered list of entries.
Every new block would send the money raised in that 10 minutes to the winner using the formula:
Latest_Hash MOD Number_of_entries_of_specic_hashtag , where MOD is the rest of the integer division.

BTW, does anyone want to give a name to this specific pick using a list of numbered entries and this formula.

Maybe we could call it: "Nephew pick". What do you reckon? Can you come up with a better name for it??

Actually, maybe it made more sense a new entry for every RT (retweet) that had that #hashtag.
This way it would benefit you to have many retweets of it.
