For the OP, https://cryptoslate.com/tokyo-whale-prepares-8000-btc-dump-as-crypto-bloodbath-continues/

But in 2018 it is not a curse, it is always a blessing to buy as much coins as we can that are priced under $10,000!

Always buy the dip and prepare for the great Bitcoin bull run of 2020.

Well look on the bright side every time the trustee is selling a chunk of their remaining Bitcoins their power to influence the market is getting lesser and lesser, it is not like they have been authorized to buy and sell their remaining position so after they have sold a batch of Bitcoin they can never bought it back at a lower price. And if Bitcoin still goes into dips after Mt. Gox is not holding anymore Bitcoin I don't know who will we blame next for the next price dips of Bitcoin.

Ok, I will grant you that.. Mt Gox is still causing a lot of trouble even years after the hack occurred. The thing is, back in the day Mt Gox was about the only way to trade bitcoins and we might not even be where we are now, if they did not create that platform to trade coins. We would also not have learned some value lessons, if that hacked did not open our eyes to the dangers of centralized exchanges.

The trustee is most probably not a Bitcoiners and he just wants to get rid of the task to sell these coins. Once this is done, he can move to the next task, which is to distribute that money. Most of the people who claimed these coins, just wants some of their money back and they might even be happy that the trustees actions are hurting the Bitcoin price. <because they got burnt, when they lost coins back then>

The sooner Mt.Gox offloads their coins the sooner things can get back to normal with Bitcoin continuing with its climb :)

Be ready for yet another price dip.

you may have found out about this now but this happened a couple of days ago and the "dip" has already happened and is now over!

regarding Mt Gox and their coins i have to say them selling is not the reason for the drop and it has never been and never will be the reason. there are whales bigger than that who are buying and selling bitcoin nearly every day and with same or bigger sizes. it is the panic of a known one that is causing these dumb drops.
not to mention that it is always good to see a whale shrink... in other words it is not a curse, it is a blessing.

The dump already happened. Its just crazy how mt gox decide to sell using exchanges and hurt the market. He was already told to sell it the other way around but he prefer to hurt the market. Now most of us are suffering for his selfish acts. He has more to sell, i bet it would bring the price down. We were in the verge of recovery and now this happened.

Yes, the dip it's already happened since a couple days ago. This is a good opportunity for a new investor to grab or enter the dip. I hope the Mt Gox bitcoin flooded will soon over and bitcoin will rise again.

Mt.Gox dumping of bitcoin is another opportunity to dip as an investor, this is not the first time Mt.Gox will sell off btc massively and thereafter the price will obviously rally upward thus banking in some profits, presently the dumping is over  while the price stabilized, and hopefully the price will resume bullish runs again.

We need to get used to the fact that bitcoin is not just for buying and growing in price, but for sale. It is necessary that bitcoin be freely bought and sold by all comers. Then the market will develop freely and the price of bitcoin will reflect its real value. We do not need to strive to inflate the cost of bitcoins by any means. It is not right. Such a way is a dead end. In the future, people like Mt. Gox will become more and more. It is also possible that the actions of Gox do not affect the price of bitcoins so much. Now on hand about 11 million bitcoins (including lost access to them), and the total number of 8,000 bitcoins put up for sale causes such interest and allegedly a drop in the rate of bitcoin. What kind of bitcoin will be, when he will be constantly bought and sold, and not only to be kept mostly?

I agree Bitcoin will surely crash with this recent news, and as we are  believer of Bitcoin we need to take advantage of this dip. Buying more Bitcoin and altcoin (Im sure the price will be affected) is the best thing to do when the price crash. In this situation you will be a fool if you are going to sell your coins.

Look on the bright side every time they sell a small portion of their Bitcoin residue, their power to affect the market diminishes and diminishes, unlike they have been authorized to buy and sell their remaining positions so that once they sell a bunch of Bitcoin they can never buy it back with lower price.

it is a good time to buy bitcoin not all the altcoins because bitcoin has real potential and no matter what happens in short term or even this year, it will be rising soon. but most of the altcoins won't survive these dumps anyways. most of the will actually die, specially those useless ICO tokens that their devs had already cashed out and went on to make a new one and earn new free money.

Those coins need to be liquidated in order to close the chapter of a great blunder that was Mt. Gox. These guys need to settle this once and for all no matter what the condition will be. Sadly though, it is creating an immense selling pressure on the market since the trustee didn't want to take the route of an auction but want to take matters directly on traditional exchanges. After this is all over, the Mt. Gox hack would just be a part of a grim history and everyone can move on with their lives, especially those who are victimized by the said incident.

Provide us with a verified quote from someone directly involved in the process or GTFO.

It's so fucking dull seeing half read sentences by half asleep 'journos' being recycled into half coherent conspiracy theories by half dead posters on here.

8000 BTC moved from one address to another. Got any facts beyond that?

This piece of information, if it is anything to go by, must be approached with carefulness and wariness as it may be also a tool in the hands of those who want to control the way things operate in the crypto world. While the Mt.Gox attack was unfortunate, the ripple effect of that loss is presently suffered by the entire community. So this means we must constantly watch each other's back to avoid a repeat like this. If it must happen so be it.
