I have a coinbase. Is there anyother method I could use threw another service like BTC-E?

The time spent finding someone to trade with might be more than the time required to set up an account on an exchange, but you won't face nearly as much risk (either in terms of unexpected delays or actual loss of your funds), and you'll be taking the first step towards entirely hassle-free trading in the future.
