You can of course comment here

Sources of course, how does one get the cool patches otherwise ? :)

Compiling on Ubuntu : All fun and games
Compiling on OSX Lion : One of the most painful experiences ever (and I only compiled bitcoind !)

Subscribing.

People should really answer this poll as it is very important.

The reason for the poll can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=37687.0

I think this is just FUD, if it's taken down from SF it will be hosted somewhere else, and if hosting the bitcoin client binaries becomes problematic I think it'll mean the bitcoin community will have much bigger problems to solve at that point than sharing some binary.

Also people who seek the next, next, next experience will probably have no problem simply using an e-wallet.

It seems a little exaggerated fear to me...

So, I'll take for granted that you read and understand 100% of the source code every time you compile it... I would like to read your reports about those source audits if that's what you do.

It seems a little exaggerated fear to me...

Fear? What about doing the right thing? Let everybody have access to Bitcoin, and not only whoever is not on the Forbidden Persons list?

Well then upload it somewhere else, but removing it from sourceforge won't fix the problem.

I compiled the QT version and it was easy peasy.

bitcoind only and I run it on a Soekris box (or at least my 'main' bitcoind with my spending wallet.)  Last time I compiled it was maybe a month ago and it's been running since.  FreeBSD.  Been modifying my own Makefile to keep up with changes (obtained by syncing to Trunk as desired due to code changes I want or general maintenance windows.)

I REALLY appreciate that it is a simple binary that can be run without 'installation' so I can run it fine from my build dir.  Also that it runs well on minimal hardware and is stable.

I VERY MUCH hope that a simple and stable executable remains a basic option as the codebase evolves.
