Title: Help using ADL and SDK AMD drivers
Post by: Morphling4047 on December 20, 2013, 06:04:05 AM
Hello everybody.

I would like to know how and what to do with sdk drivers from AMD and ADL drivers also from AMD...

I use windows 8 64 bits and I'm running cgminer 3.7.2.

What is supose to do after having the SDK and the ADL 6.0?

Do I need to extract anything to anywhere?

I'm sorry for the noob question, but I really can't find an answer to it.

I've googled a lot, but nothing seems to be about anything but Linux, and not windows :(

Help would really be apreciated, since I can't make my hd7990 to mine more than 1100Kh/s :(

Best regards and merry christmas to all!

Andre

Are you programming? If not, you do not need either Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) Software development kit or Display Library (ADL) Software development kit. The standard driver already includes an OpenCL runtime.

I'm not programming, I use the regular ati drivers. So if I don't program my own drivers, I'll not need SDK library, because the Catalysts will do the job for me to put the openCL working on the right maner, right?

My problem is that I've been studying everything that I find about scrypt mining, because I just CAN'T put my Powercolor HD7990 to work properly for mining :(

I only  have 1.1Mh/s with it (550kh/s each GPU) and the best memory/engine factor that I've found was really 900mhz (engine) 1775mhz (memory), and yes I've tryed about 1000000 possibilities step by step.

I've formated my computer and even tryed it on another computer :(

My settings on cgminer bat file are:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_US_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
cgminer.exe -o pool:9108 --scrypt -u user.2 -p x -I 13 -w 256 -g 2 --lookup-gap 2 --thread-concurrency 14336 --gpu-engine 900 --gpu-memclock 1750

Can anyone help me try to figure out why the hell I can't achieve the at least 1.3Mh/s? :(

And those settings are the only that can make me have 1.1Mh/s, because with other settings that I tryed, it can go  down to 1Mh/s to 950kh/s...

Help will be really apreciated!

Best regards and merry christmas
