Title: "result does not validate on cpu"
Post by: Flxl on December 20, 2013, 12:00:52 PM
Hey guys, playing around with an old pc i found in the basement.
Trying to GPU mine altcoins with an Nvidea GeForce 8600 GTS on an 2x2,4 system.

Using cudaminer and this settings:
cudaminer.exe -i 0 -c 2 -l 32x4 -m 1 -o stratumblablablaport -o user:password

Getting the error of the title like 50% of the time. And besides that a way to high hashrate in my opinion of 200khas+.

<- nearly no experience with GPU mining, so tried alot on the settings but nothing helped.

Any ideas?

32x4 is an intense setting for an old GPU like this one. Try 16x2 or if that doesn't validate too, try 8x2 and such.

I had one old Quadro FX 570, which worked with kepler setting (-l K2x4). See if you get more hashes with kepler or fermi.

changed the setting -l. just -l K2x4 works without the named error or crashs.

Getting around 5 khash/s .. thats the most i can probably squeeze out or or other settings to still need to be changed?

Thanks so far <3

5 Khash/sec seems ok for the card, cosidering its a fairly old card.
There's a readme file with CUDAMiner which explains all applicable commands.
